Rob Walker is an American journalist, author and educator, whose primary interests include design, business, technology, consumer culture, and the arts. He is the author of ''The Art of Noticing'' (2019), ''Buying In: The Secret Dialogue Between What We Buy and Who We Are'' (2008), and co-author, with Joshua Glenn, of ''Significant Objects: 100 Extraordinary Stories About Ordinary Things'' (2012). He writes a regular column in Fast Company Magazine, and has written for Design Observer, Bloomberg Businessweek, and The Atlantic. Rob Walker (New York Politician)
Richard Robinson "Rob" Walker (born 1974/1975) was the Chief Deputy County Executive of Nassau County, New York from January 2010 until January 2018. He was previously a Republican member of the New York State Assembly representing the 15th Assembly District, which includes parts of central Nassau County including Hicksville, Westbury and Syosset. Political career Walker had started out as a summer intern for then Nassau County Legislator Ed Mangano. He moved on to become the assistant to Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto and Director of Traffic Safety and Constituent Services. He then went on to become the Deputy Commissioner of Parks for the Town of Oyster Bay. He was a major force behind the Save Environmental Assets Fund Committee. Rob Walker Racing Team was a privateer team in Formula One during the 1950s and 1960s. Founded by Johnnie Walker heir Rob Walker (1917–2002) in 1953, the team became F1's most successful privateer in history, being the first and (along with FISA team) only entrant to win a World Championship Formula One Grand Prix without ever building their own car. Beginnings Born in 1917, the 35-year-old Rob Walker founded his team in 1953, debuting in the Lavant Cup Formula 2 race, entering a Connaught for driver Tony Rolt, where he achieved a third place. The next race, at Snetterton, Eric Thompson was the first winner with a Rob Walker car. Between Rolt and Thompson, the Rob Walker Racing Team had an auspicious debut season, with eight wins in British club racing series. Channel Awesome, Inc. is an American online media production company based in Lombard, Illinois. The company was created in 2008 by Mike Michaud, Mike Ellis, and Bhargav Dronamraju. Channel Awesome operated the ''That Guy with the Glasses'' website (often abbreviated ''TGWTG'') until late 2014, when it was phased into the ''Channel Awesome'' website. The site is best known for the comedic film review series ''Nostalgia Critic'', starring Doug Walker. ''That Guy with the Glasses'' previously hosted fellow channels by ''Bar Fiesta'', beginning in November 2009, and ''Blistered Thumbs'', beginning in November 2010. Channel Awesome currently hosts a YouTube channel of the same name with an emphasis on content produced by Doug Walker and his brother Rob. Biography Born Robert John Walker on 26 June 1953, Rob Walker has lived in Adelaide or the Adelaide Hills most of his life. He attended Cowandilla Primary and Plympton High Schools and trained as a primary school teacher at Western Teachers College (later University of South Australia.) Robert Joseph Walker (born 13 March 1975 in Oxford, Oxfordshire) is a British sports commentator, television presenter and freelance reporter, who has covered sports including tennis, snooker, darts, boxing, football, sailing, and athletics for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Setanta Sports and the IAAF.
