Rob Swearingen
Rob Swearingen (born July 23, 1963) is an American businessman and politician. Swearingen was born in Oneida County, Wisconsin. He went to Rhinelander High School in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, where Swearingen and his wife now own the AL-GEN dinner club. Rob was president of the Tavern League of Wisconsin from October 2007 to December 2012. Wisconsin's 34th Assembly District
The 34th Assembly district of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in northern Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Vilas County and most of Oneida County. It contains the cities of Rhinelander and Eagle River and most of the Lac du Flambeau Reservation. It also contains parts of the Nicolet National Forest, including the Blackjack Springs Wilderness. The district is represented by Republican Rob Swearingen, since January 2013. Daniel L. Meyer (born January 1, 1949) is a retired American businessman and Republican politician from Wisconsin. He was secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (2017–2018) in the cabinet of governor Scott Walker. He previously served 14 years (1999–2012) in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 34th Assembly district (northern Wisconsin), and was mayor of Eagle River, Wisconsin (1997–2001). Rhinelander is a city in Oneida County, Wisconsin, United States, and its county seat. The population was 8,285 at the 2020 census. History The area that eventually became the city of Rhinelander was originally called Pelican Rapids by early settlers, named for the stretch of rapids just above the convergence of the Wisconsin and Pelican Rivers. Around 1870, Anderson W. Brown of Stevens Point and Anson P. Vaughn traveled up the Wisconsin River to cruise timber for Brown's father, E. D. Brown. Rhinelander High School
Rhinelander High School (RHS) is a high school in Rhinelander, Oneida County, Wisconsin, United States. History The first Rhinelander High School was built in 1889. It was named Rhinelander Union High School (RUHS) and the building was commonly known as Old Central. It stood on what is now Saroca Park. When the school began it had just two teachers and fewer than 80 students. By 1912, attendance had grown to over 215 students. The school was demolished to accommodate increased enrollment. Tavern League Of Wisconsin
The Tavern League of Wisconsin (TLW) is a trade association of alcoholic beverage retailers in the state of Wisconsin. The League was created in 1935, two years after the end of Prohibition, and today has 5,000 members. The League is headquartered in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. The TLW lobbies for member interests at the state and federal level, and supports members in complying with legal issues facing their businesses. Issues include opposition to increases in alcohol and cigarette taxes and licensing laws seen as onerous, and opposition to restrictions on gambling machines. The TLW supports programs that aim to combat drunk driving by providing rides to and from bars. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The Assembly is controlled by the Republican Party, as it has been for 28 of the past 30 years (only 2009-2010 are exceptions).
