Rob Smith (journalist)
Rob Smith is an English television presenter, who has been a co-anchor on the BBC ''South East Today'' news programme. Rob Smith and Polly Evans took over the co-anchor roles from Geoff Clark and Beverley Thompson in mid-September 2009. Career Smith started his career on Radio Kent. He was at the radio station for seven years, ending up producing and presenting the evening drivetime show. He joined the BBC in the South East in 1994. Smith was a presenter and reporter with BBC ''South East Today'' since the programme started in 2001. As a news journalist, Smith has covered a range of stories, from hard news, talking to victims of crime or circumstance, to the more amusing items, such as the man who kept a lizard in a bath. ''BBC South East Today'' is the BBC South East regional television news programme, serving Kent, East Sussex, part of West Sussex and a small part of Surrey. Polly Evans
Polly Evans is a journalist, broadcaster and producer and former anchor of the BBC regional news programme ''South East Today''. Career Evans started broadcasting while studying at the University of Leeds, working early morning shifts on the campus radio station. She then went to Cardiff Journalism School to do a post-graduate diploma and later, travelled to post-war Bosnia to make a film about a new impartial television station for the country. After working in Japan as an English teacher during a gap year, Evans joined BBC Radio Wales' features department, developing and producing networked programming for BBC Radio 4. She later joined the BBC Wales newsroom as a reporter and newsreader, before moving to BBC Radio Devon in Plymouth a year later. Brands Hatch is a motor racing circuit in West Kingsdown, Kent, England, United Kingdom.
