Rob Davies (footballer)
Robert John Davies (born 24 March 1987) is a Welsh Association football, footballer who plays for Tywyn & Bryncrug F.C., Tywyn & Bryncrug. Davies formerly played for Billericay FC and signed for the Essex-based outfit in a three-year deal rumoured to be worth £250,000. Prior to that, he played for Wrexham A.F.C., Wrexham, and signed for West Bromwich Albion F.C., West Bromwich Albion in the FA Premier League 2003-04, 2003–04 season for a nominal fee. Davies has also represented Wales at the Under-17, 19 and 21. Davies was formerly a regular to reality TV having appeared in shows on MTV and ITV 2. He now actively fundraisers for a number of charities including Welsh Air Ambulance and the community in a bid to encourage youngsters to take up football. His vision is to improve opportunities and facilities in the region for young people to follow in his footsteps. Robert Haydn Davies (born 12 May 1948) was minister of trade and industry of South Africa from 2009 to 2019. Education Davies obtained his BA Honours in economics from Rhodes University and then went on to complete an MA in international relations at the University of Southampton, and a PhD in political studies from the University of Sussex. Political career Due to his anti-apartheid activities Davies left South Africa and lived in Britain and Mozambique between 1979 and 1990. During this period he was attached to the Centre for African Studies at the Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique. Robert Rhys Davies (born 14 August 1984) is a British Paralympic table tennis player. Davies, who has played table tennis competitively since 2007, was selected for the 2012 Paralympic Games. After winning the 2013 European Championship title in both singles and team events, he was named world number 1 in the class-1 category. Personal history Davies was born in Abergavenny in 1984. He has a twin brother, Richard. A semi-professional rugby player, Davies played at hooker for Brecon RFC. In September 2005, while playing in a home game against Ynysybwl RFC, a collapsed scrum left him with a broken neck. He was air-lifted to hospital by a helicopter, which half an hour earlier had rescued his twin brother from a road accident.
