Roadstead Of Lorient
The roadstead of Lorient (, ) is a roadstead located to the west of Morbihan in Brittany (administrative region), Brittany, France. Geography The harbor of Lorient constitutes the mouths of the rivers Blavet, Scorff and the Ter in the Atlantic Ocean. It has several port facilities, including Marina, marinas but also the infrastructure of the Lorient Submarine Base. Oriented northeast-southwest, it has an island in its center, Île Saint-Michel, and communicates with the Atlantic Ocean to the south by two passes, the ''Passe du Sud'' and the ''Passe de l'Ouest'', separated by reefs. Its northern part is more specifically called the harbor of Pen-Mané while that to the south is called the harbor of Port-Louis. Groix
Groix (; br, Enez Groe) is an island and a commune in the Morbihan department of the region of Brittany in north-western France. Groix lies a few kilometres off the coast of Lorient. Several ferries a day run from Lorient to Groix. There are a few small towns on the island. High cliffs are on its north coast and sandy beaches in secluded coves on the south coast. Groix is also home to a wide variety of sea birds. Groix is also famous for hosting the only convex beach in Europe, which also moves following sea currents. Port Of Kergroise
The Port of Kergroise is a commercial port located in the district of Kergroise, Lorient, on the south coast of Brittany, France. It is owned by the Region of Brittany since 2007 and managed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morbihan. Based on the annual tonnage processed, it is ranked as the 14th most important commercial port in France. Built in 1910, it was expanded during the post-war reconstruction of the city. The docks were once again expanded in the 1970s and the installation of new equipment allowed it diversify. Port-Louis, Morbihan
Port-Louis (; ) is a commune in the Morbihan department of Brittany in north-western France. Inhabitants of Port-Louis are called in French ''Port-Louisiens''. History At the beginning of the 17th century, merchants who were trading with India established warehouses in Port-Louis. They later built additional warehouses across the bay in 1628, at the location which became known as "L'Orient" (''the Orient'' in French).
