Roadburn
Roadburn Festival is an international music festival held in Tilburg, Netherlands every April since 1999. It was set up as a spin-off from the Roadburn music blog founded by Jurgen van den Brand and Walter Hoeijmakers. Originally focused on stoner rock, Roadburn grew into a major event spanning the entire spectrum of heavy rock and experimental music. The key staff involved with running the festival are Frens Frijns (managing director, CEO of Tilburg's 013 venue), Walter Hoeijmakers (promoter, artistic director) and Becky Laverty (press, communication, side programme). Since 2014, Roadburn Festival publishes a daily fanzine that is distributed freely to its attendees. The fanzine is titled ''Weirdo Canyon Dispatch'' and is edited by JJ Koczan, one of the principal live photographers of the festival and the editor of ''The Obelisk'' webzine. Maggot Heart
Maggot Heart is a rock band based in Berlin, Germany. History The band formed in 2016 as solo project of Swedish guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Linnéa Olsson, who released in May 2017 the debut EP ''City Girls'' on the Berlin-based label Teratology Sound & Vision. The EP was recorded together with Linnéa's long time friends and formerly In Solitude members Uno Bruniusson on drums (who also played together with Olsson in the band Grave Pleasures) and Gottfrid Åhman on bass guitar. Åhman also handled the recording together with Pierre Somville. Shortly after the EP release, Maggot Heart played its first live show Live Evil Berlin 2017, followed by some dates in Germany with black metal act OCCVLTA. Primitive Man is an American doom metal band from Denver, Colorado, composed of Ethan Lee McCarthy on vocals and guitar, Jonathan Campos on bass, and Joe Linden (who has replaced founding member Bennet Kennedy) on drums. They are known for an extremely harsh sound – combining funeral doom, noise music, and black metal elements – and blunt nihilistic outlook. Kevin Richard Martin, often known under his recording alias The Bug, is an English musician and music producer. Martin moved from Weymouth to London around 1990 and is now currently based in mainland Europe. He has been active for over two decades in the genres of dub, jazzcore, industrial hip hop, dancehall, and dubstep. Martin's projects include GOD, Techno Animal, Ice, Curse of the Golden Vampire, Pressure and, most recently, King Midas Sound (with poet Roger Robinson and singer/visual artist Kiki Hitomi) and The Bug vs Earth. Flowdan
Marc Veira (born 17 March 1980), better known by his stage name Flowdan, is an English grime MC and record producer from Bow and Poplar, East London. A founding member of Roll Deep, he was responsible for naming the group and remained a member until its hiatus. In 2015, he founded his own record label, SpentShell, which has since signed YGG and GHSTLY XXVII to its roster. Career A long-standing member of Roll Deep, Flowdan appears on all five of their albums. A good friend of Wiley, the crew's de facto leader, he came from a drum and bass and jungle background and was part of the first wave of grime MCs. James Kent (born 1993), known by his stage name Perturbator, is a French synthwave musician from Paris. Biography Kent has a background as a guitarist in several black metal bands. Since 2012, he has produced electronic music inspired by cyberpunk culture and from movies such as ''Akira'', ''Ghost in the Shell'', and ''The Running Man''. He uses a variety of software synths in his productions, such as the emulators of old vintage synths like the OB-X or the CS-80. Sólstafir is an Icelandic post-metal band formed in 1995 and currently signed to Season of Mist. Originally a black metal band, they transitioned to a post-metal-influenced style on their second album '' Masterpiece of Bitterness''. History Sólstafir was formed in 1995 by guitarist/singer Aðalbjörn Tryggvason, bassist Halldór Einarsson, and drummer Guðmundur Óli Pálmason. The band's name is the Icelandic word for sun beams (crepuscular rays). They soon recorded the demos ''Í Norðri'' and ''Til Valhallar''. Halldór then left the band, and Aðalbjörn and Guðmundur recorded a promo tape as a duo in 1997.
