Balrampur (Lok Sabha Constituency)
Balrampur Lok Sabha constituency was a Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency in northern India. Balrampur is in Uttar Pradesh state . This constituency ceased to exist in 2008 with the implementation of delimitation of the parliamentary constituencies. Most of the area under the erstwhile Balrampur seat now falls under Shravasti Lok Sabha constituency since 2008. Former PM Shri Atal Bihari Bajpai contested Lucknow by-election in 1955 and came third. Then in 1957, he contested General Election in three seats. He finished fourth in Mathura, second in Lucknow, and won in Balrampur as his first time representing Lok Sabha. In 1962, he contested Balrampur and Lucknow, and lost in both the seats. In 1967, he contested Balrampur and this time won. Shravasti (Lok Sabha Constituency)
Shrawasti Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 80 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Uttar Pradesh state in northern India. This constituency came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002. Assembly segments and Serving MLAs Shrawasti Lok Sabha constituency comprises five Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments. These are: Shravasti, Tulsipur, Gainsari and Balrampur assembly segments were earlier in erstwhile Shravasti Lok Sabha constituency. Tulsipur is a town and tehsil in the Balrampur district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Geography Tulsipur is located near the India-Nepal border on the banks of the River Nakti (also known as River Siria) and is 23 km from Koilabas and 190 km from the state capital Lucknow. Balrampur is a city and a municipal board in Balrampur district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated on the bank of river Rapti and is the district headquarters of Balrampur district.
