Rivière des Envies (River of cravings, in a direct translation) is located in Canada, in the province of Quebec, in the Mauricie administrative region, in the Batiscanie. Rivière des Envies course from the outlet of Lac-de-la-Traverse, located in row St-Joseph, Sainte-Thècle. This lake is fed by the outlet of Lake Aylwin, which in turn is fed by the discharge of Lake Jesuit (and lakes of surrounding mountains). The watershed of the rivière des envies is , i.e. the second largest watershed of Batiscanie. Saint-Tite, Quebec
Saint-Tite is a town in the province of Quebec, Canada, north of Trois-Rivières, in the Mékinac Regional County Municipality (RCM) and in the Mauricie administrative region. In the 19th Century, the Batiscanie, Quebec, Batiscanie economy was mainly founded on forestry and agriculture. Lac-à-la-Tortue, Quebec
Lac-à-la-Tortue was a small town in the administrative region of Mauricie, in the province of Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1895, the town consisted of about 2500 inhabitants. Since January 1, 2002, Lac-à-la-Tortue has become one of the seven sectors of the new merged Shawinigan city. The Lac-à-la-Tortue area is located east of the Saint-Maurice River near the former town of Grand-Mère, east of the former city of Saint-Georges, south of Hérouxville and west of Saint-Narcisse. Lac-à-la-Tortue sector takes its toponymic origin of the lake of the same name. Despite its proximity to the Saint-Maurice River (only three km at the closest), the lake is part of the Batiscanie watershed. Lake Traverse (Mékinac)
The Lake Traverse (also referred to as "Lake Travers" or "Traverse Lake") is located in the northern area of Sainte-Thècle, in the Mekinac Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Mauricie in the province of Quebec, Canada. Batiscan River
The Batiscan River is located in La Mauricie administrative region, in the Quebec province, Canada. This river flows from Lake Édouard in Mauricie south and west to empty into the St. Lawrence River at Batiscan, Quebec, northeast of Trois-Rivières, Quebec. L'Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec
L'Ancienne-Lorette is a city in central Quebec, Canada. It is a suburb of and an enclave within Quebec City. It was merged with Quebec City on January 1, 2002 as part of a 2000–2006 municipal reorganization in Quebec, but, after a 2004 referendum, it was reconstituted as a separate city on January 1, 2006. Its history dates to 1674, when a group of Huron (Wyandot) fleeing war with the Iroquois settled there under the protection of the French. It was founded as a mission village by the Jesuits. Lake Roberge is located in the municipality of Grandes-Piles, in the MRC Mekinac Regional County Municipality, in Mauricie, in Quebec, in Canada. Jean-Joseph Casot
"Jean-Joseph Casot (October 4, 1728 – March 16, 1800) was a Jesuit came from France to Canada in 1757 as a lay brother". Upon his arrival in Canada, the Jesuits assign tasks to Jean-Joseph Casot in Batiscanie. One of his first papers he wrote in Canada, contains for the first time the mention of "Rivière des Envies" (Carvings river) which pours in Batiscan river in St. Stanislas. Casot served Jesuits in various capacities, including as treasurer of the Jesuit college in Quebec, until his ordination as a priest by Bishop Jean-Olivier Briand in 1766. He devoted the rest of his life as the steward of the college in Quebec. He also acted confessor with nuns of the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec for a number of years.
