Riverside-Albert (2016 pop.: 350) is a Canadian village in Hopewell Parish of Albert County, New Brunswick. Riverside-Albert is located on the Shepody River at the edge of the Shepody Marsh. The community of Harvey Parish is located across the river. It is approximately halfway between two major tourist destinations: Fundy National Park and the Hopewell Rocks. A location place name. Roscoe Fillmore
Roscoe Alfred Fillmore (10 July 188720 November 1968) was a Canadian radical political activist, horticulturalist, and author from the Maritimes. Born in the tiny farming community of Lumsden, Albert County, New Brunswick, Fillmore's mother died in 1894 from tuberculosis at the age of 29. The village was abandoned not long thereafter due to declining soil quality and the family moved around Albert County for several years before settling in the village of Albert. Like his father and many working-class people from the region, Fillmore traveled to the United States for work. While in Portland, Maine, he heard a soapbox speaker for the Socialist Party and he started his path to socialism. Upon returning home, he eventually became the "region's most active socialist agitator" for the Socialist Party of Canada in the Maritimes before World War I. Abner Reid McClelan
Abner Reid McClelan (January 4, 1831 – January 30, 1917) was a Canadian senator and the tenth Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick. Born in Riverside-Albert, New Brunswick, the son of Peter McClelan and Lucy (Robinson) McLelan, he was educated at Mount Allison Wesleyan Academy in Sackville, (now Mount Allison University). He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick in 1854 and served until confederation in 1867 when he was called to the Senate of Canada for the senatorial division of New Brunswick. A Liberal, he resigned in 1896 when he was appointed Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick. He served until 1902. 2021 Canadian Census
The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The Trans Canada Trail, officially named The Great Trail between September 2016 and June 2021, is a cross-Canada system of greenways, waterways, and roadways that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean, Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean, Pacific to the Arctic Ocean, Arctic oceans. The trail extends over ; it is now the longest recreational, multi-use trail network in the world. The idea for the trail began in 1992, shortly after the Canada 125 celebrations. Hopewell Rocks
The Hopewell Rocks, also called the Flowerpots Rocks or simply The Rocks, are rock formations known as sea stacks caused by tidal erosion in the Hopewell Rocks Ocean Tidal Exploration Site at the Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park in New Brunswick, Canada. They stand 40–70 feet tall. They are located on the shores of the upper reaches of the Bay of Fundy at Hopewell Cape near the end of a series of Fundy coastal tourism hubs including Fundy National Park and the Fundy Trail. Due to the extreme tidal range of the Bay of Fundy, the base of the formations are covered in water twice a day. It is possible to view the formations from ground level at low tide. Fundy National Park
Fundy National Park is a national park of Canada located on the Bay of Fundy, near the village of Alma, New Brunswick. It was officially opened on 29 July 1950. The park showcases a rugged coastline which rises up to the Canadian Highlands, the highest tides in the world and more than 25 waterfalls. The park covers an area of along Goose Bay, the northwestern branch of the Bay of Fundy. When one looks across the Bay, one can see the northern Nova Scotia coast. Harvey is a civil parish in southern Albert County, New Brunswick, Canada. It comprises a single local service district, which is a member of the Southeast Regional Service Commission. Shepody Bay
Shepody Bay (french: Baie de Chipoudy) is a tidal embayment, an extension of the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, Canada, which consists of of open water and of mudflats, with of saline marsh on the west, and eroding sand and gravel beaches covering an area of approximately on the eastern shore. The intertidal mudflats "support internationally important numbers of the crustacean ''Corophium volutator'', the principal food source for millions of fall migrating shorebirds".
