Geography Riverhills is by road south-west of the Brisbane CBD. Riverhills is bounded to the west by the Brisbane River, to the south by Wolston Creek, and to the south-east by Wacol Station Road. The land use is predominantly residential. The terrain is hilly rising from below above sea level beside the river to over on the northern bank of Wolston Creek. History The western part of the original land holdings that became the Centenary Suburbs were part of the Wolston Estate, consisting of 54 farms on an area of 3000 acres, offered for auction at Centennial Hall, Brisbane, on 16 October 1901. Wolston Estate is the property of M. B. Goggs, whose father obtained the land forty years previously in the 1860s and after whom Goggs Road is named. Centenary Suburbs
The Centenary Suburbs are a group of suburbs in the south-west in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The suburbs originated as an "ambitious long-term suburban development proposal that included a number of neighbourhoods, or suburbs, each with sufficient services and facilities for its residents to have their day-to-day needs met without having to go elsewhere". History The area was given its name by land developer Hooker Rex in 1959, Queensland's centenary year that marked its separation from New South Wales in 1859. All suburbs have the postcode of 4074. Originally the land was all known as Jindalee, indeed the 1967/68 Australian Scout Jamboree, held in what is now Jamboree Heights, is recorded as being held in Jindalee. Middle Park is a residential south-western suburb in the Centenary Suburbs in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Middle Park had a population of 3,955 people. Geography Middle Park is located by road south-west of the Brisbane GPO. Middle Park is bounded to the north by the McLeod Country Golf Club, to the West by Baronga Street and Horizon Drive, Lalina Street and Macfarlane Street, to the south by Sumners Road and to the east by Estate Road and Beanland Street. Westlake is a south-western suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Westlake had a population of 4,368 people. Geography Westlake adjoins the suburbs of Riverhills, Middle Park and Mount Ommaney. History Westlake was developed as part of the Hooker Centenary Project which commenced in 1959. Brisbane River
The Brisbane River is the longest river in South East Queensland, Australia, and flows through the city of Brisbane, before emptying into Moreton Bay on the Coral Sea. John Oxley, the first European to explore the river, named it after the Governor of New South Wales, Sir Thomas Brisbane in 1823. Wacol is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Wacol had a population of 3,761 people. Geography Wacol is bounded to the west by the Brisbane River and to the north loosely by Wolston Creek. It is south-west of the Brisbane central business district. Centenary State High School
Centenary State High School is a government secondary (7–12) school at 1 Moolanda Street, Jindalee, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is a co-curricular, co-educational school that opened in 1999. At that time, it catered for students in Grades 8 to 12. As of 2020, the school's enrolment stood at just over 2000 students. In January 2015, it opened its doors to students in Grade 7, which are a part of a Junior School, along with Grades 8 and 9 (with Grades 10–12 becoming the Senior School). As well, throughout 2014, the school brought Sixth Graders to the premises, who—along with Seventh Graders, participated in special faculty-based activities. Jindalee is a south-western residential suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Jindalee had a population of 5,320 people. Geography Jindalee is by road south-west of the Brisbane CBD, and is a part of the Centenary suburbs. It is bordered by the Brisbane River to the north. The Centenary Motorway enters the suburb from the north (Kenmore), crossing the river on the Centenary Bridge (), and forms the south-eastern boundary of the suburb before exiting on the south-east corner of the suburb into Mount Ommaney / Sinnamon Park.
