'' Riverdale'' is an American teen drama television series very loosely-based on the characters of Archie Comics. The series was adapted for The CW by Archie Comics' chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions and Archie Comics. Originally conceived as a feature film adaptation for Warner Bros. Pictures, the idea was re-imagined as a television series for Fox. In 2015, development on the project moved to The CW, where the series was ordered for a pilot. Filming takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia. The series debuted on January 26, 2017. The series is set to release its seventh and final season on March 29, 2023. Veronica Cecilia Lodge is one of the main characters in the Archie Comics franchise, and is the keyboardist and one of the three vocalists of rock band The Archies. She is from New York but currently resides in the town of Riverdale (Archie Comics), Riverdale, with her parents Hiram Lodge and Hermione Lodge. She is portrayed by Camila Mendes in ''Riverdale (2017 TV series), Riverdale'' and Suhana Khan in ''The Archies (film), The Archies''. Kevin Keller is a fictional character in the Archie Comics universe. He premiered in ''Veronica'' #202, published in September 2010. Created by writer/artist Dan Parent, Kevin is the first gay character in Archie Comics history. He is portrayed by Casey Cott on ''Riverdale''. Casey Morton Cott (born August 8, 1992) is an American actor, known for his role as Kevin Keller on The CW series '' Riverdale''. Early life and education Cott was born in 1992, the middle of three children of Rick Cott, an investment manager and former fighter pilot in the Air Force, and Lori Cott (née Morton).
