Riverbend, Queensland
Riverbend is a rural locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. Designated as a separate locality in 2017, it will be progressively developed for residential use as the population of the city grows. Geography Riverbend is situated along the development corridor south of Brisbane in the Greater Flagstone development area. The locality takes its name from the bend in the Logan River on the southern boundary of the suburb. On the river on the southern boundary is the Cedar Grove Weir. History Riverbend is situated in the Bundjalung traditional Indigenous Australian country. Jimboomba Timber Reserve Provisional School opened circa 1899. In 1906, it was renamed Martindale Provisional School. On 1 January 1909, it became Martindale State School. It was in the area of Gittins Road (approx ). It closed in 1922. Jimboomba
Jimboomba is a town and locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Jimboomba had a population of 13,201 people. Geography Jimboomba is situated on the Mount Lindesay Highway, by road south-east of Logan Central and by road south of Brisbane central business district. The western part of Jimboomba is bordered by the new suburb of Glenlogan and the Logan River; the only bridge within the locality is Payne Bridge on Cusack Lane (). There is a low-level older bridge immediately to the north of Payne Bridge but this cannot be used by vehicular traffic. The Queensland Government's current plan is that Jimboomba will become a major residential and business area within the Brisbane metropolitan region, as part of the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area, which will house up to 150,000 additional residents in coming decades. Logan City is a local government area situated within the south of the Brisbane metropolitan area in South East Queensland, Australia. Yugambeh–Bundjalung, also known as Bandjalangic, is a branch of the Pama–Nyungan languages, Pama–Nyungan language family, that is spoken in north-eastern New South Wales and South-East Queensland. Yugambeh–Bundjalung was historically a dialect continuum consisting of a number of dialect, varieties, including Yugambeh dialect, Yugambeh, Nganduwal, Minjangbal, Njangbal (Nyangbal), Biriin, Baryulgil, Waalubal, Dinggabal, Wiyabal, Gidabal, Galibal, and Wudjeebal. Cedar Grove Weir
The Cedar Grove Weir is a weir located across the Logan River in the South East region of Queensland, Australia. The main purpose of the weir is for potable water storage. Location and features The weir is located northwest of , and southwest of and is connected to the Wyaralong Dam on Teviot Brook and the Bromelton Offstream Storage facility. The project was completed in December 2007 at a cost of 18.5 million and provides up to of water per day. Initially managed by Queensland Water Infrastructure, a body set up to administer major water infrastructure projects, the weir is now managed by SEQ Water. Logan River
The Logan River ( Yugambeh: ''Dugulumba'') is a perennial river located in the Scenic Rim, Logan and Gold Coast local government areas of the South East region of Queensland, Australia. The -long river is one of the dominant waterways in South East Queensland that drains the southern ranges of the Scenic Rim and empties into Moreton Bay after navigating the City of Logan, a major suburban centre located south of Brisbane.
