Kipchoge Keino Stadium
Kipchoge Keino Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Eldoret, Kenya. It is named after the athlete Kipchoge Keino. It holds 10,000 people. In 2007, the Kenyan Government allocated KSh.100 million/= for the upgrade of the stadium, which had fallen into disrepair. The stadium has been used by local football teams including Rivatex and Eldoret KCC, but there are currently no teams from Eldoret in the Kenyan Premier League. The stadium is also used for athletics meetings. Eldoret
Eldoret is a principal town in the Rift Valley region of Kenya and serves as the capital of Uasin Gishu County. The town was referred to by white settlers as Farm 64, 64 and colloquially by locals as 'Sisibo'. As per the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, Eldoret is the fifth most populated urban area in the country after Kenya's 4 cities of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Nakuru. The FKF President's Cup (known as the Betway Shield cup for sponsorship reasons) is the top knockout tournament in Football in Kenya, Kenyan football. It was created in 1956, but during its existence the knockout tournament has had different names. It is the Kenyan equivalent to the FA Cup. In 2003 two different cup competition's were held in Kenya because the 4 semi-finalists of the President's Cup withdrew from the Kenya Football Federation, KFF and continued with their "Transparency Cup" while the KFF continued their tournament with already eliminated clubs. 1991 African Cup Winners' Cup
The 1991 season of the African Cup Winners' Cup football club tournament was won by Power Dynamos in two-legged final victory against BCC Lions. This was the seventeenth season that the tournament took place for the winners of each African country's domestic cup. Thirty-six sides entered the competition, Ground Fource withdrawing before the 1st leg of the first round, Ports Authority disqualified by CAF after 1st leg of the first round and Arsenal withdrawing at the same stage of the competition. Sammy Sholei Tiyoi (born 18 May 1967) is a former Kenya national football team player. Sholei began his football career in Kitale town, in the Rift Valley Province. Sholei, a lanky and effective midfielder played for Rivatex and Raymonds FC (both now defunct) before moving to Kenya Breweries FC (now renamed Tusker FC). Sholei was part of the Kenya Breweries FC team that reached the finals of the CAF Cup Winners' Cup in 1994 that failed to hang onto a 2–2 away draw to succumb to a shocking 3–0 loss at the hands of Zaire's DC Motema Pembe in the return tie in Nairobi. He retired from club and international football in 1997. He was also a Kenya national football team player, having earned his first call up under coach Mohamed Kheri back in 1991.
