The Rising Storm (band)
The Rising Storm is an American rock group that was active at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, United States, between 1965 and 1967. Their music is considered to belong in the folk rock and garage rock genres. The original members of the group were Bob Cohan (guitar), Todd Cohen (bass), Charlie Rockwell (keyboards), Tom Scheft (drums), Tony Thompson (guitar, lead vocal), and Rich Weinberg (guitar, vocals). The Rising Storm is most notable for their 1967 album, ''Calm Before'', which is cited by rock and roll historian Richie Unterberger in Allmusic as being "one of the rarest and most respected garage band albums." Unterberger devoted a chapter of his 1998 book, ''Unknown Legends of Rock 'n' Roll'', to the Rising Storm. More than fifty years after the group's founding, mint copies of ''Calm Before'' can fetch four figure sums among vinyl record collectors interested in the garage rock era. ''Rising Storm'' is a fantasy novel, the fourth book in the ''Warriors'' series, written under the pen name of Erin Hunter. ''Rising Storm'' was written by Kate Cary. The series follows the adventures of four Clans of wild, anthropomorphic cats. The plot follows Fireheart, newest deputy of ThunderClan, struggling to complete his duties as deputy, while still knowing that the previous deputy, Tigerclaw, is lurking in the forest somewhere, seeking revenge against Fireheart and his Clan. The book was first released as a hardcover in the US on 6 January 2004. It was then released in both paperback and e-book format. The UK has received the paperback version along with Canada. ''Rising Storm'' is a stand-alone expansion pack to '' Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad'' developed by Tripwire Interactive in conjunction with the modding community. The title focuses on the Pacific campaign of World War II. Announced in May 2010, the game was scheduled for release in 2013. The beta went live on May 8 that year. A sequel, titled '' Rising Storm 2: Vietnam'' was released in 2017. Gameplay ''Rising Storm'' is a realistic first person shooter. All of the core gameplay mechanics from ''Red Orchestra 2'' are present, such as the cover system and bullet drop.
