Ripe (film)
''Ripe'' is a 1996 American independent drama film released in 1997. It was the first film written and directed by Mo Ogrodnik and starred Monica Keena and Daisy Eagan. Plot Fraternal twin sisters Rosie (Daisy Eagan) and Violet (Monica Keena) lead a life of hard knocks with very poor, abusive parents. Glad to be rid of their parents who have been killed in a car crash, the twins vow to run away to Kentucky in search of a better life. While on the road, the girls sneak onto a military base seeking food and shelter and meet up with Pete, a drifter working as a grounds keeper, who takes them in. Throughout the movie there are overtones of Rosie's jealousy over the attention the pretty Violet receives from men. For example, when Violet and Pete start a relationship, Rosie becomes increasingly jealous before eventually coming to realize that the sisters' childhood bond has been destroyed forever. Monica Keena
Monica Keena (born May 28, 1979) is an American actress. She made her film debut in '' While You Were Sleeping'' (1995), and a lead role as Lilliana "Lilli" Hoffman in '' Snow White: A Tale of Terror'' (1997). She later starred as Lori Campbell in ''Freddy vs. Jason'' (2003), and has had roles in the films ''Brooklyn Rules'' (2007) and the 2009 remake of '' Night of the Demons''. Keena has also worked in television, starring as Abby Morgan on ''Dawson's Creek'', Rachel Lindquist on the short-lived comedy ''Undeclared'', and Kristen on HBO's ''Entourage''. Early life Keena was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents are William Junior (a financial sales manager with the firm Paine Webber) and Mary Catherine Keena (a nurse). Daisy Eagan is an American actress. Early life Eagan was born in Brooklyn to a Jewish family. Her mother, Andrea Boroff Eagan, was a medical writer; she died when Eagan was 13. Her father, Richard Eagan, is a visual and performing artist. Daisy Eagan was inspired to become an actress at age 6 after seeing him perform. Career In 1991, she won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for playing Mary Lennox in ''The Secret Garden (musical), The Secret Garden''.
