Ripartitella Brasiliensis
''Ripartitella brasiliensis'' is a species of fungus in the family Agaricaceae. It was originally described as new to science by Carlos Luigi Spegazzini in 1889. The fungus is found in the southwestern United States and Mexico, Central and South America, Africa, and the Bonin Islands of the western Pacific Ocean. It fruits in clusters on the decaying wood of hardwood trees, especially oak An oak is a tree or shrub in the genus ''Quercus'' (; Latin "oak tree") of the beech family, Fagaceae. There are approximately 500 extant species of oaks. The common name "oak" also appears in the names of species in related genera, notably ''L .... Botanist
Botany, also called , plant biology or phytology, is the science of plant life and a branch of biology. A botanist, plant scientist or phytologist is a scientist who specialises in this field. The term "botany" comes from the Ancient Greek word (''botanē'') meaning "pasture", " herbs" "grass", or " fodder"; is in turn derived from (), "to feed" or "to graze". Traditionally, botany has also included the study of fungi and algae by mycologists and phycologists respectively, with the study of these three groups of organisms remaining within the sphere of interest of the International Botanical Congress. Nowadays, botanists (in the strict sense) study approximately 410,000 species of land plants of which some 391,000 species are vascular plants (including approximately 369,000 species of flowering plants), and approximately 20,000 are bryophytes. Botany originated in prehistory as herbalism with the efforts of early humans to identify – and later cultivate – edible, med ...

Cercopemyces Rickenii
''Cercopemyces'' is a mushroom genus allied to ''Ripartitella'' and not clearly aligned with well characterized mushroom families. The genus contains three species, one known from western and another, previously known as ''Ripartitella ponderosa'' or ''Cystoderma ponderosa'', from eastern North America, and a third from Europe. ''Ceropemyces'' grow in arid regions and resemble saprophytic ''Amanita'' that are sometimes classified as ''Saproamanita'' and that also grow in arid regions. The type species grows near mountain mahogany. Etymology The name ''Ceropemyces'' was derived from the Ancient Greek name for mischievous forest creatures, the Cercopes In Greek mythology, the Cercopes ( el, Κέρκωπες, plural of Κέρκωψ, from κέρκος (''n''.) Species Fungorum
''Index Fungorum'' is an international project to index all formal names (scientific names) in the fungus kingdom. the project is based at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, one of three partners along with Landcare Research and the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is somewhat comparable to the International Plant Names Index (IPNI), in which the Royal Botanic Gardens is also involved. A difference is that where IPNI does not indicate correct names, the ''Index Fungorum'' does indicate the status of a name. In the returns from the search page a currently correct name is indicated in green, while others are in blue (a few, aberrant usages of names are indicated in red). All names are linked to pages giving the correct name, with lists of synonyms. ''Index Fungorum'' is one of three nomenclatural repositories recognized by the Nomenclature Committee for Fungi; the others are ''MycoBank'' and ''Fungal Names''. Current names in ''Index Fungorum'' (''Specie ...

Mycologist
Mycology is the branch of biology concerned with the study of fungus, fungi, including their genetics, genetic and biochemistry, biochemical properties, their Taxonomy (biology), taxonomy and ethnomycology, their use to humans, including as a source for tinder, traditional medicine, Edible mushroom, food, and entheogens, as well as their dangers, such as poison, toxicity or fungal infection, infection. A biologist specializing in mycology is called a mycologist. Mycology branches into the field of phytopathology, the study of plant diseases, and the two disciplines remain closely related because the vast majority of plant pathogens are fungi. Overview Historically, mycology was a branch of botany because, although fungi are evolutionarily more closely related to animals than to plants, this was not recognized until a few decades ago. Pioneer mycologists included Elias Magnus Fries, Christian Hendrik Persoon, Anton de Bary, Elizabeth Eaton Morse, and Lewis David von Schweinitz ...

Jean-Baptiste Ripart
Jean Baptiste Marie Joseph Solange Eugène Ripart (15 May 1815, Bessines – 17 October 1878, Bourges) was a French physician, botanist and mycologist. During his career he worked as a physician in Bourges. He conducted investigations of cryptogams and performed research of the genera ''Rosa'' and ''Rubus''. With Pierre Alfred Déséglise (''Rosa'') and Léon Gaston Genevier (''Rubus''), he described numerous botanical species. The mycological genera of ''Ripartitella'' and '' Ripartites'' as well as the former plant genus ''Ripartia'' (which is now a synonym of ''Rosa Rosa or De Rosa may refer to: People *Rosa (given name) * Rosa (surname) *Santa Rosa (female given name from Latin-a latinized variant of Rose) Places *223 Rosa, an asteroid *Rosa, Alabama, a town, United States * Rosa, Germany, in Thuringia, G ...'',), all commemorate his name.
