Rip Curl Search
Rip Curl Search formerly known as ''Rip Curl Search or Rip Curl Pro Search'', is a professional surfing competition of the WSL World Tour which took place every year in October and November always in some places around the world, seeking to take the ASP World Tour to new locations and expand surfing. The event was first founded in 2005 as ''Rip Curl Search''. Dispute Locations During the years the Rip Curl Search passed through some places in the world. This is a list of where events took place. Carissa Moore
Carissa Kainani Moore (born August 27, 1992) is an American surfer. She was the first-ever winner of the Olympic gold medal in women's shortboard surfing at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is also a five-time world champion, winning in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2019 and 2021 on the World Surf League WSL Women's World Tour. Moore was the first surfer in history to win a WSL world title and the Olympic title in the same year. In 2013, she was named by '' Glamour'' magazine as one of their Women of the Year. She became a member of the Surfers' Hall of Fame in 2014. Taylor Knox
Taylor Knox (born May 15, 1971) is an American professional surfer. Knox was born in Thousand Oaks, California and began surfing at 8 years old. He moved with his family to Carlsbad at 13 and continued to pursue his dream of becoming a pro surfer. At age 15, he had to undergo back surgery after a damaged lumbar vertebra from a skateboarding accident threatened to paralyze him. He spent the next six months in a cocoon-like body cast. In 1990, Knox participated in the World Amateur Championships in Japan. He finished fourth place, ahead of fellow USA teammate Kelly Slater, who placed fifth. He began his ASP World Tour campaign in 1993. In February 1998, Knox won the inaugural K2 Big-Wave Challenge, an event that offered $50,000 to the surfer who caught the biggest wave of the winter and had photographic evidence. Damien Hobgood is a professional surfer from Satellite Beach, Florida. He is known for having once held the highest two-wave grand final score in pro surfing by scoring 19.9 out of 20 at The Quiksilver Pro Fiji in 2004 until Kelly Slater eclipsed it the following year at Teahupo'o in the final with a perfect 20. Bruce Irons (born November 16, 1979) is an American regularfoot professional surfer from Hanalei, Kauai, and is often regarded as one of the best tuberiders of all time. He is the younger brother of three-time world champion Andy Irons. Background and early years Born in Hanalei, Kauai, he was raised on the North Shore where he began surfing at age seven. Bede Durbidge
Bede Durbidge (born 23 February 1983) is an Australian professional surfer competing on the World Surf League World Tour. Durbo, Bej and The White Fijian are his nicknames. Life Bede Durbidge was born in Brisbane, Queensland and grew up in Point Lookout, on North Stradbroke Island. He began in the Australasian Junior Series, and after four years in the World Qualifying Series joined the World Championship Tour in 2005. As a professional, his strongest achievement is winning the Boost Mobile Pro in Trestles, San Clemente, California. Only five waves was enough for him to defeat the seven-time champion Kelly Slater. Robert Kelly Slater (born February 11, 1972) is an American professional surfer who has been crowned World Surf League champion a record 11 times. Joel Parkinson
Joel Parkinson (born 10 April 1981) is an Australian surfer who competed in the World Surf League (WSL). After twelve years competing at the elite level on the ASP World Championship Tour, a stretch that saw him win eleven elite ASP World Title Events, plus nine additional ASP tour events, and achieve runner-up second place to the ASP World Title four times, Parkinson won the ASP World Championship Tour Surfing Title on 14 December 2012 in Hawaii at the Banzai Pipeline during the ASP World Tours' final event for 2012–the Billabong Pipeline Masters.
