The Rio Hondo is a river in southern New Mexico which begins at the confluence of the Rio Bonito (New Mexico), Rio Bonito and Rio Ruidoso rivers near the town of Hondo, New Mexico. Rio Hondo (Northern New Mexico)
The Rio Hondo is a river in northern New Mexico. A left tributary of the Rio Grande, it flows approximately from its headwaters high in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Wheeler Peak and the Taos Ski Valley to its discharge in the Rio Grande Gorge just west of the community of Arroyo Hondo. Portions of the Rio Hondo are prized as prime spots for bird-watching and fishing. The river was the subject of a 2005 study by the New Mexico Environment Department Surface Water Quality Bureau into the effects of wastewater from Taos Ski Valley, which is discharged from the Village of Taos Ski Valley Waste Water Treatment Plant. Bottomless Lakes State Park
Bottomless Lakes State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of New Mexico, located along the Pecos River, about southeast of Roswell. Established in 1933, it was the first state park in New Mexico. It takes its name from nine small, deep lakes located along the eastern escarpment of the Pecos River valley. Lakes Most of the nine lakes are almost completely surrounded by cliffs, with the notable exceptions being Lea Lake and Lazy Lagoon. Lea Lake has a large, sandy shoreline on the western side and tall cliffs on the eastern side. Berrendo River
Berenda (Spanish: ''Berrenda'', meaning "female antelope") was an unincorporated community in Madera County, California. It is located on the north bank of Berenda Creek southeast of Fairmead, and northwest of Madera, at an elevation of . Berenda is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad. The Berendo post office opened in 1873, closed for a period in 1881, changed its name to Berenda in 1919, and closed in 1935. The town was almost completely destroyed by fire in 1907, but was rebuilt. Once described as the "gateway to Yosemite", Berenda once was the terminus of a branch rail line to Raymond (the San Joaquin Valley and Yosemite Railroad) for tourists visiting the park. Roswell Air Center (Roswell International Air Center; Roswell Industrial Air Center) is an airport south of Roswell, New Mexico, Roswell, in Chaves County, New Mexico, United States. History The airport was Roswell Army Airfield during World War II, and Walker Air Force Base during the Cold War. When it closed it was the largest base of the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command. Roswell Industrial Air Center was developed after the closure of Walker Air Force Base on June 30, 1967.
