Rio Grande High School
Rio Grande High School is a public high school located in South Valley, New Mexico, United States, with an Albuquerque postal address. It is part of the Albuquerque Public Schools system. Athletics RGHS competes in the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA), as a class 6A school in District 5. In 2014, the NMAA realigned the state's schools in to six classifications and adjusted district boundaries. Atrisco Heritage Academy High School
Atrisco Heritage Academy High School (AHAHS), better known as Atrisco Heritage, is a public high school in unincorporated Bernalillo County, New Mexico, United States, with an Albuquerque postal address. It is located on the area's West Mesa. It is a part of the Albuquerque Public Schools. The school is named after the Atrisco Land Grant, which is now owned by Westland development. Enrollment at AHAHS was expected to be 2,200 in the fall of 2011. The mascot of AHAHS is a Jaguar, chosen by the first freshman class. Ken Giles
Kenneth Robert Giles (born September 20, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He previously played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, and Seattle Mariners. Exposed to baseball at an early age, Giles played the game while attending Rio Grande High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Although he was drafted out of high school by the Florida Marlins, Giles instead enrolled at Yavapai College, where he played college baseball until the Phillies drafted him in the seventh round (241st overall) of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. Shelia Burrell
Shelia Burrell (born 15 January 1972 in Albuquerque, New Mexico) is a retired American heptathlete. She was a two-time representative of the United States at the Summer Olympics, competing in 2000 and 2004. Her best Olympic finish was fourth place. She also competed twice at the World Championships in Athletics, which included a bronze medal in 2001. She was also a two-time silver medalist at the 1999 Pan American Games. Her personal best for the heptathlon 6472 points and she was American national champion on four occasions.
