Daniela Kostova
Daniela Kostova (born 1974) is a contemporary Bulgarian visual artist known for her photography and video based installations. Life and career Daniela Kostova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and received her M.F.A. from the Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in New York and the National Art Academy in Sofia. Her works have been exhibited in places such as the Queens Museum of Art, the Institute for Contemporary Art (Sofia), the Kunsthalle Wien (Austria) and others. In 2006, 2007 and 2009 Kostova received travel grants from the New York Foundation of the Arts (NYFA), the American Foundation for Bulgaria and the European Cultural Foundation. Mihael Milunović (born July 2, 1967) is a Montenegrin, French and Croatian painter. His work encompasses a wide range of artistic disciplines, from painting, drawing and photography through large-scale sculptures, installations, to sound, video and objects. His main interests focus on social and political issues. By decontextualizing everyday objects, symbols or situations, Milunović provokes unease in the observer, a blend of alienation and curiosity. Xenia Hausner
Xenia Hausner (born 1951 in Vienna) is an Austrian painter and stage designer. Life Hausner was born into a family of artists. Her father was the Austrian painter Rudolf Hausner. From 1972 to 1976, she studied stage design at the Academy of Arts in Vienna and at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. From 1977 to 1992, she designed sets for theatre, opera and film at the Burgtheater in Vienna, Salzburg Festival, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Theâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels etc., as well as a stage design for a new production of Richard Strauss's opera “Der Rosenkavalier” in 2020 staged by André Heller at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Berlin. Robert Hammerstiel
Robert Hammerstiel (18 February 193323 November 2020) was an Austrian painter and engraver. His works are influenced by Serbian icon painting, wood-cut engraving and pop art. Hammerstiel was internationally recognized and received numerous awards. His home town installed a museum dedicated to his art. Life and work Hammerstiel was born in Werschetz/Vršac, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, in a family of German expatriates. His father, Anton Hammerstiel, was a baker who also painted icons; his mother was Therese Hammerstiel, née Schiff. He attended German and Serbian primary schools. Towards the end of World War II, the Germans were expelled. Hammerstiel was deported to Zichydorf internment camp; his mother to a different camp. Helmut Zilk (9 June 1927, Vienna – 24 October 2008, Vienna) was an Austrian journalist and politician in the Austrian Social Democratic Party. He served as mayor of Vienna between 1984 and 1994. Biography Born in Vienna, Zilk was Mayor of Vienna from 1984 to 1994. In December 1993 he was severely injured when he opened a letter bomb which had been sent to his home in Innere Stadt by Franz Fuchs. Dóra Maurer (born 1937 in Budapest) is a Hungarian visual artist whose work has spanned a 50-year career. She works in almost every medium, from film and photography, to painting, performance, and sculpture. Principally achieving recognition in the 1970s with avant-garde work, Maurer has developed her art career from works with contemporary and modern influences that have been shown worldwide. Her art is based on mathematical and complex system processes. Most of Maurer's work follows the theme of showing options to the viewer and what the viewer can do with those options.
