Ringgold High School (Pennsylvania)
Ringgold High School, part of the Ringgold School District, is a public high school in Carroll Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, which is about thirty miles south of Pittsburgh. The Ringgold School District was formed as a result of the merger of the Donora and Monongahela School Districts. Mascot: Ram Colors: Blue & Gold Athletics Ringgold High School has sixteen varsity sports teams and competes as The Ringgold Rams in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League. State Championship Titles Ringgold currently holds two state championship titles. The first PIAA Class 4A title was won by the 1994-5 Ringgold Boys Basketball team. The basketball team beat Williamsport in a 71-66 game. The second was won by the 2018 Ringgold Boys Baseball team. The 2018 Rams beat their opponent, Valley View, in a 6-4 win. Ringgold School District is a midsized, suburban, public school district located in the northeastern corner of Washington County, Pennsylvania, south of Pittsburgh. The district encompasses 58 square miles, including the city of Monongahela, the boroughs of Donora, New Eagle and Finleyville, and the townships of Carroll, Union, and Nottingham. The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) is an interscholastic athletic association in Western Pennsylvania. It is District 7 of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association. Frederick William Cox (December 11, 1938 – November 20, 2019) was an American professional football player who was a kicker for 15 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Minnesota Vikings. After playing college football for Pittsburgh, he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the eighth round of the 1961 NFL Draft and by the New York Titans in the 28th round of the 1961 AFL Draft.
