Riley Green (singer)
Riley Green (born October 18, 1988) is an American country music singer/songwriter. He saw his first success with the single " There Was This Girl" in 2018. He released an album, ''Different 'Round Here'', in September 2019. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Alabama. His songs reflect the influences of his life growing up in a small town in the South. Music career Before he was a recording artist, Green was a Division 1 FCS Quarterback on the Jacksonville State University football team. Green was also a contestant on the CMT reality show ''Redneck Island''. He released a self-titled EP in 2013, followed by additional EPs in 2015, 2016, and 2017. In 2018, he signed to the Big Machine Label Group. Billy Dukes of ''Taste of Country'' reviewed "There Was This Girl" favorably, comparing its theme to "Chicks Dig It" by Chris Cagle and noting the more neotraditional country influence compared to Green's peers. Jacksonville, Alabama
Jacksonville is a city in Calhoun County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census the population was 12,548, which is a 49% increase since 2000. It is included in the Anniston-Oxford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is home to Jacksonville State University, which is a center of commerce and one of the largest employers in the area. History Jacksonville was founded in 1833 on land purchased from Creek Indian Chief "Du-Hoag" Ladiga. First called Drayton, the town was renamed to honor President Andrew Jackson in 1834. There are a couple Civil War monuments in town, including a statue of Major John Pelham in the city cemetery and a statue of a Confederate soldier in the middle of the square. Ben Hayslip (born March 11, 1970 in Evans, Georgia) is an American country music songwriter. Early life Hayslip first attended Valdosta High School in Valdosta GA where he was a freshman quarterback for the 1984 State and National champion Valdosta Wildcats. In 1985 his family relocated to Evans, Georgia where Hayslip attended Evans High School near Augusta, Georgia. Hayslip became a four-year starter and an All-State first baseman helping to lead the Evans baseball team to a runner-up finish in the 1985 State Championship. In his senior year, his Evans Knights won the 1988 Georgia state championship, finishing with a 29-1 record and a #3 national ranking by USA Today. Hayslip also participated in the Georgia High School Association's North/South All-Star Game with other top baseball recruits. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. The Canadian Hot 100 is a music industry record chart in Canada for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. The Canadian Hot 100 was launched on the issue dated March 31, 2007, and is currently the standard record chart in Canada; a new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by ''Billboard'' on Tuesdays but post-dated to the following Saturday. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The Heatseekers Albums and the Heatseekers Songs charts were introduced by ''Billboard'' in 1991 with the purpose of highlighting the sales by new and developing musical recording artists.
