Riley Chamberlin
Riley Chamberlin (November 7, 1854 – January 24, 1917) was an American silent film actor. Born in Byron, Michigan, he was a graduate of Grand Rapids High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended Clinet College, Cornell University, and the Gardiner Academy of Music in Chicago. In 1910, billed as Riley Chamberlain, he performed in ''Lulu's Husbands'' on Broadway. In 1912, he began acting in films with the Thanhouser Company The Thanhouser Company (later the Thanhouser Film Corporation) was one of the first motion picture studios, founded in 1909 by Edwin Thanhouser, his wife Gertrude and his brother-in-law Lloyd Lonergan. It operated in New York City until 1920, ... at the age of 57, and starred in over 100 films until his death five years later at the age of 62. Byron, Michigan
Byron is a village in Shiawassee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 581 at the 2010 census. The village is located within Burns Township. History Founded in 1824, Byron received its first postmaster in 1837. One of the only towns in the county, Byron was the last stop on a stagecoach run from Detroit that ran west along what is now Rose Center road and Silver Lake road. The only known copy of this film was rediscovered in 1999 on the floor of the projection booth in a Superior, Montana movie theater. In 2001, this film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". Plot ''The Evidence of the Film'' tells the story of a messenger boy (Marie Eline) at a film studio who is framed for the theft of $20,000 in bonds by a broker (William Garwood). The broker plans to have his office staff witness him placing the bonds into an envelope and give it to the messenger boy to deliver to his client.
