Riksmål Society Literature Prize
The RiksmÃ¥l Society Literature Prize (''RiksmÃ¥lsforbundets litteraturpris'') is awarded annually by the '' RiksmÃ¥lsforbundet'' for the outstanding publication in riksmÃ¥l. The prize was awarded until 2002 by the ''Oslo and Bærum RiksmÃ¥l League'', when it was taken over by the ''RiksmÃ¥lsforbundet''. Bjørg Vik
Bjørg Vik (11 September 1935 – 7 January 2018) was a Norwegian novelist, short story writer, playwright, and journalist. Biography Bjørg Turid Vik was born in Oslo, Norway. Her parents were Sverre Thorbjørn Johansen (1903–1958) and Anna Sofie Marcussen (1902–1987). She grew up in the neighborhood of St. Hanshaugen in Oslo. She completed her ''examen artium'' at Hegdehaugen School in 1954 and attended the Journalist Academy in Oslo from 1955 to 1956. From 1956 to 1960, she was a journalist for the newspaper '' Porsgrunns Dagblad''. She made her literary debut in 1963 with the short story collection ''Søndag ettermiddag''. Further collections from the 1960s are ''Nødrop fra en myk sofa'' (1966) and ''Det grådige hjerte'' (1968). She also wrote five novels. Between 1988 and 1994 she published the semi-autobiographical Elsi Lund trilogy of novels about adolescence and maturity in postwar Oslo. Harald Sverdrup (writer)
Harald Ulrik Sverdrup (29 May 1923 – 26 June 1992) was a Norwegian poet and children's writer. He received several literary prizes, including the Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature, the Mads Wiel Nygaards Endowment, the Dobloug Prize and the RiksmÃ¥l Society Literature Prize. Early and personal life Sverdrup was born in Gravdal, Buksnes, Lofoten, as a son of medical doctor Harald Ulrik Sverdrup (1890–1976) and Berit Johanne Strandenæs (1896–1961). He was related to bishop and politician Jakob Sverdrup, who was his great-uncle, and to oceanographer Harald Ulrik Sverdrup Jr, who was his first cousin once removed. Other first cousins once removed are Leif Sverdrup, Georg Johan Sverdrup and philologist Jakob Sverdrup. Ernst Orvil
Ernst Orvil (née Ernst Richard Nilsen; 12 April 1898 – 16 June 1985) was a Norwegian novelist, short story writer, poet and playwright. Biography Ernst Richard Orvil was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. His parents Johan Nilsen (Rev. Nilsson) (1859-1957) and Sara-Lisa Pettersson (1864-1940), were both from Värmland, Sweden. He graduated artium at the Kristiania cathedral school in 1917. Later he was an engineering student at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim. He made his literary debut with the novel ''Birger'' in 1932, followed by six annual releases in this same genre. His first poetry collection was ''Bølgeslag'' (1940). Odd Abrahamsen (20 May 1924 Р23 June 2001) was a Norwegian poet. He was born in Fredrikstad. Henrik Groth
Henrik Johan Florentz Groth (11 October 1903 – 10 August 1983) was a Norwegian publisher and essayist, who was managing director of the Cappelen publishing company from 1947 to 1973. Biography Groth was born and grew up in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of Halfdan Emil Groth (1874–1929) and Valborg Haagaas (1879–1960). His father held senior positions in the Den Norske Creditbank and was later managing director of Skogeierbanken A/S. His first cousins included Henriette Bie Lorentzen, co-founder of Nansen Academy. Åge Rønning (4 October 1925 – 31 January 1991) was a Norwegian writer and journalist. Biography Åge Rønning was born in Oslo, Norway. His parents were Normann Rønning (1888–1974) and Astrid Therese Nielsen (1895–1978). He graduated in 1944 at Vahl School. He had a career in journalism working for ''Verdens Gang'' 1945–47, ''Norsk Telegrambyrå'' 1947–54 and ''Morgenbladet'' until 1964. His debut novel ''Fotfeste for elskere'' was published in 1954. His writings often reflected his Roman Catholic faith and focused on related religious issues. From 1968 to 1969, Rønning was a deputy and from 1978 board member of the Norwegian Authors' Union. Knut Faldbakken (born 31 August 1941, in Hamar) is a Norwegian novelist. He studied psychology at Oslo University, and then worked as a journalist. Faldbakken visited a number of countries, working variously as a bookkeeper, sailor, and factory worker, and began writing books in 1967 while living in Paris.
