Konstnärshuset
Konstnärshuset (literally Artists' House) is a building in central Stockholm, Sweden. It is owned by the Swedish Artists Association (''Svenska konstnärernas förening'') and is used as an art gallery. History Designed by Ludvig Petersen, the building was completed in 1898 and inaugurated on January 7, 1899. The restaurant Konstnärsbaren was restored in 1931, under the design of architect Björn Hedvall (1889-1982). The restaurant consists of a dining room, a bar, and a banqueting hall decorated with wall paintings from the renovation in 1931. Carl Larsson (1853–1919) was the first chairman of the Artists Association which owns the building. The facade overlooking the street is finished in Portland limestone with intricate details, including wall openings, a crowning balustrade, clover-leafed windows and mosaics. LIBRIS
LIBRIS (Library Information System) is a Swedish national union catalogue maintained by the National Library of Sweden in Stockholm. It is possible to freely search about 6.5 million titles nationwide. In addition to bibliographic records, one for each book or publication, LIBRIS also contains an authority file of people. For each person there is a record connecting name, birth and occupation with a unique identifier. The MARC Code for the Swedish Union Catalog is SE-LIBR, normalized: selibr. The development of LIBRIS can be traced to the mid-1960s. While rationalization of libraries had been an issue for two decades after World War II, it was in 1965 that a government committee published a report on the use of computers in research libraries. The government budget of 1965 created a research library council (''Forskningsbiblioteksrådet'', FBR). Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum
Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum is a Norwegian visual arts museum in Northern Norway. The Northern Norwegian Museum of Art is responsible for the entire northern region and in 2010 established a separate department for the nationwide program. History Established as a foundation in 1985, the Northern Norway Art Museum moved to its current location in Tromsø in 2001. The building was originally designed by architect Søren Andreas Wiese-Opsahl in 1917 to house post and telegraph offices. From 1967 the building was commissioned as a police station. Sjöhistoriska Museet
The Maritime Museum ( sv, Sjöhistoriska museet) in Stockholm, Sweden is a museum for naval history, merchant shipping and shipbuilding. Located in the Gärdet section of the inner-city district Östermalm, the museum offers a panoramic view of the bay Djurgårdsbrunnsviken. The building was designed by architect Ragnar Östberg and built in 1933–36. Collections The museum houses about 900,000 photos, 50,000 objects and 45,000 drawings, all related to the sea, coast, ships and boats, past and present. A major part of the collection, the boats, are housed in Boat Hall 2 at Galärvarvet in Stockholm. The boat collection ranges from canoes to Skerry cruisers. Gothenburg Museum of Art ( sv, Göteborgs konstmuseum) is located at Götaplatsen in Gothenburg, Sweden. It claims to be the third largest art museum in Sweden by size of its collection.
