Anaana's Tent
''Anaana’s Tent'' ( iu, ᐊᓈᓇᐅᑉ ᑐᐱᖕᒐ, ''Anaanaup Tupinga'') is a Canadian pre-school children’s television show created by Taqqut Productions in 2018. It airs in Canada on Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, APTN in both Inuktitut and English. It is hosted by Rita Claire Mike-Murphy along with her puppet husky sidekick Qimmiq. Format Each episode is approximately 22 minutes long and features a combination of live-action, puppet and animated sequences. These segments contain a variety of content, including songs, stories and educational sketches. Each of the elements in an episode focus on the title theme. SOCAN Songwriting Prize
The SOCAN Songwriting Prize, formerly known as the ECHO Songwriting Prize, is an annual competition recognizing the best in Canadian emerging music, both anglophone and francophone. Established in 2006, the competition was designed to recognize some of the most innovative, creative and artistic songs created in the year preceding the award by emerging songwriters in Canada. Songs are selected by a competition panel composed of 10 music experts from the Canadian music scene, who each nominate two songs based on a set of criteria they believe are the best songs by emerging artists from the past year. The songs are narrowed down to a set of 10 finalists and announced publicly. Fans then vote for the winner over the course of two weeks in June. Once the winners (one anglophone and one francophone) are determined after the voting period, they each are awarded a $10,000 cash prize from SOCAN and an assortment of prizes from the yearly sponsors. Terry Uyarak is an Inuk singer-songwriter from Igloolik, Nunavut, Canada, whose debut album ''Nunarjua Isulinginniani'' was released in 2020. Prior to launching his musical career, Uyarak was a performer and artistic director with Artcirq, an Inuit circus troupe. ''Nunarjua Isulinginniani'', whose title translates as "before the world ends", was produced by Jace Lasek, and was released in October 2020 on Aakuluk Music. Michael Phillip Wojewoda is a Canadian record producer and musician. He has been nominated for eight Juno Awards and has received one for Recording Engineer of the Year and one for Producer of the Year. History Wojewoda began recording bands in 1977, working in the basement of his mother's beauty salon and using rudimentary equipment. In 1985, he produced the 2016 Polaris Music Prize and 2017 Polaris Music Prize Heritage Prize nominated album ''To Sir With Hate'' by Fifth Column. 2020 Polaris Music Prize
The 2020 edition of the Canadian Polaris Music Prize was presented on October 19, 2020. The longlist was announced on June 15, 2020, with the shortlist following on July 15, 2020 and the winner announced on October 19, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional winner's gala did not take place this year, and instead a special cinematic tribute to the shortlist was streamed online by CBC Music and CBC Gem, following which the winner was announced. The award was won by Backxwash for the album ''God Has Nothing to Do With This Leave Him Out of It''. The livestreamed presentation received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Live Production for Social Media at the 9th Canadian Screen Awards. Pangnirtung (or Pang, also Pangniqtuuq, in syllabics: ᐸᖕᓂᖅᑑᖅ ) is an Inuit hamlet, in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut, located on Baffin Island. The Juno Awards of 2020, the 49th Juno Awards, was an awards presentation that was to be held at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on 15 March 2020.
