Right Now (Fabrizio Sotti Album)
Right Now is a 2013 studio album released by Italian-American Jazz guitarist Fabrizio Sotti. The album is notable for its blending of Sotti's backgrounds as a jazz musician, hip-hop producer, and pop songwriter across collaborations with Shaggy, Ice-T, Tony Grey, Mino Cinelu, Zucchero, Melanie Fiona, Isabella Lundgren, M1 of Dead Prez, and more. The album was recorded at Fabrizio's Sotti Studios in NYC and mixed at Piety Studios in New Orleans by legendary engineer John Fishback, while Sotti produced and arranged all of the songs on the album. ''Right Now'' was inspired by Sotti's diverse musical background, and a range of his musical inspirations. The album features reinterpretations of Pink Floyd's "The Wall," Jimi Hendrix's “The Wind Cries Mary,” and Bob Marley's “Waitin’ in Vain” alongside Sotti's own songs and compositions. Fabrizio Sotti (born April 27, 1975, Padova, Italy) is a guitarist, composer, producer and songwriter. In addition to jazz, Sotti plays in the styles of bebop, jazz fusion, soul, hip hop, R&B and pop. He has worked with the likes of Al Foster, Randy Brecker, John Patitucci, Mino Cinelu, Roy Hargrove, Cassandra Wilson, Shaggy, Melanie Fiona, Jennifer Lopez, Ice-T, Tupac, Q-Tip, K'naan, M-1 (rapper), Dead Prez, Hell Razah, Paolo Fresu, Zucchero, Mondo Marcio, Mina, Clementino among many others. Piety Studios
Piety Street Recording is a recording studio at 728 Piety Street in the 9th Ward/ Bywater, New Orleans. History The building was originally a US post office and later housed the Louisiana Center For Retarded Citizens. After a few short-term tenants, the building was purchased in 1999 by producer/engineer/musician Mark Bingham and ex-REM manager Jefferson Holt. In 2001 it was rebuilt as a 3-studio recording facility and christened Piety Street Recording. Other partners included artist and studio manager Shawn Hall and producer/engineer John Fishbach, with Wesley Fontenot serving as chief engineer. The studio's largest room, Studio A, utilized a 48-channel SSL 4064 G+ loaded with 30 outboard microphone preamps. Roger Waters

The Wind Cries Mary
"The Wind Cries Mary" is a rock ballad written by Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix wrote the song as a reconciliatory love song for his girlfriend in London, Kathy Mary Etchingham. More recent biographical material indicated that some of the lyrics appeared in poetry written by Hendrix earlier in his career when he was in Seattle. Background and recording According to his then girlfriend, Kathy Etchingham's, account, he wrote the lyrics after an argument with her about her cooking lumpy mashed potatoes, using "Mary" (Etchingham's middle name). Etchingham suggested that the line in the song "a broom is drearily sweeping up the broken pieces of yesterday's life" represents Hendrix sweeping up the broken dishes she threw as a result of the argument.
