Riesel Independent School District is a public school district based in Riesel, Texas (USA). Located in McLennan County, a small portion of the district extends into Falls County. In 2009, the school district was rated " recognized" by the Texas Education Agency. Riesel, Texas
Riesel is a city in McLennan County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,062 at the 2020 census, a slight increase from the 1,007 people who lived in Riesel at the 2010 census. It is part of the Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Riesel, Texas, named after W.H. Riesel, one of the original settlers who built a Cotton gin there, has steadily been growing since being settled around 1880–1890. With the exception of a small decrease in population from 1930 to 1950, Riesel's population has continued to grow to a point where the town currently has over 1,000 residents. A new power plant has increased city funds and the population. In early May, 2010, voters approved a $25,000,000 bond for the Riesel Independent School District that would build a new high school, administration building, softball and baseball field amongst other things. McLennan County is a County (United States), county located on the Edwards Plateau in Central Texas. As of the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census, its population was 260,579 . Falls County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 16,968. The county seat is Marlin. It is named for the original 10-foot-tall waterfall on the Brazos River, which existed until the river changed course during a storm in 1866.
