''Ridgey Didge'' was a popular Network Ten magazine television programme for children in Australia. The name is an Australian slang term meaning honest, true or the real thing. Format A long-running series of 52-minute programmes, each studio-based episode was intended to be an entertaining voyage of adventure and discovery for the viewers, constantly covering new topics reflecting Australian life and culture. Location segments added to the mix. One episode recorded sealing a time capsule to commemorate Australia's bicentennial in 1988; the capsule was opened in 2001. ABC Television (Australian TV Network)
ABC Television is the general name for the national television services of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Until an organisational restructure in 2017/2018, ABC Television was also the name of a division of the ABC. The name was also used to refer to the first and for many years the only national ABC channel, before it was renamed ABC1 and then again to ABC TV. Matthew "Matt" Robinson (also Williams) is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera '' Neighbours'', played by Ashley Paske. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 22 May 1989. Paske secured the role after ''Neighbours'' broadcaster, Network Ten wanted him to remain on their network after they cancelled the show '' Richmond Hill'', which he had appeared in. Matt was introduced during a time ''Neighbours'' producers were creating new characters to rejuvenate the show. Matt was created by a team of several writers headed by Ray Kolle. Norman Frederick Hetherington (29 May 1921 – 6 December 2010) was an Australian artist, teacher, cartoonist (known as "Heth"), puppeteer, and puppet designer. He is best remembered as the creator of one of Australia's longest running children's shows, ''Mr. Squiggle''. Hetherington was the sole operator and voice of its star performer, the Mr. Squiggle marionette.
