Ride On The Wind
''Ride on the Wind'' (stylized in all caps) is the third extended play by South Korean co-ed group Kard. It was released on July 25, 2018, by DSP Media and distributed by Kakao M. The EP consists of six tracks, and was supported by the single of the same name. Background and release On June 15, 2018, DSP Media confirmed that the group would make a comeback in July with their third mini-album. Later that month, an image teaser was uploaded, with the numbers 725 and 819. The former was revealed to be the release date for the album, July 25. The latter refers to the date of the group's concert in Seoul, August 19. Individual member video teasers were released between July 11–12, followed by the album's track list on July 13. Concept photos of the members were released from July 14–17. Pre-orders for the album began on July 18, along with a preview for the physical album packaging. Kard (band)
Kard (, stylized K.A.R.D or KARD) is a South Korean co-ed group formed by DSP Media. They are composed of members J.Seph, BM, Somin, and Jiwoo. They officially debuted on July 19, 2017, with their extended play '' Hola Hola''. History Pre-debut Somin was previously a member of DSP Media's Japan-based girl group Puretty, which disbanded two years after its debut in 2012. She later joined ''Kara Project'', where she competed to become a new member of KARA and finished in second place. On August 24, 2015, she debuted as leader of DSP Media's girl group April, but she decided to depart from the group on November 9. Male members J.Seph trained for five years, while BM trained for four and a half years under DSP Media. The label originally planned to debut them in a hip-hop duo, but this was changed later on. Trap Music
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence. It utilizes very few instruments and focuses almost exclusively on snare drums and double- or triple-timed hi-hats. The EP consists of nine tracks, including the lead single "You in Me". The EP debuted at number 8 on the Gaon Album Chart, at number 4 on the US World Albums and at number 17 on the US Heatseekers Albums. It has sold over 11,500 physical copies as of November 2017. Background and release On November 6, 2017, the group released an image on their official Twitter account with the caption "2017.11.21 #COMINGUP".
