Ricoh GR (large Sensor Compact Camera)
The Ricoh GR is a digital large sensor compact camera announced by Ricoh on April 17, 2013, one of a number of Ricoh GR digital cameras. It was succeeded by the Ricoh GR II in 2015 and the Ricoh GR III in 2019. Ricoh GR Unlike its predecessors (the "GR Digital" series), the Ricoh GR incorporated an APS-C image sensor, while retaining a relatively compact form factor. Coupled with its retractable lens, the GR is potentially the slimmest of any camera in its class when powered off. Aside from portability, reviewers praised the GR for its lens quality and ergonomics. An unusual feature of the Ricoh GR was its built-in ND filter. The Ricoh GR was a series of point-and-shoot, or compact, 35 mm film cameras made by Ricoh. The chronological list of these cameras are the GR1, GR10, GR1s, GR1v and GR21. Every time lenses are changed, dust may enter the camera body and settle on the image sensor. An anti-aliasing filter (AAF) is a filter used before a signal sampler to restrict the bandwidth of a signal to satisfy the Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem over the band of interest. Since the theorem states that unambiguous reconstruction of the signal from its samples is possible when the power of frequencies above the Nyquist frequency is zero, a brick wall filter is an idealized but impractical AAF.
