Rico Villasenor
Rico Villasenor is an American musician and the former bassist for Downset (band), Downset. Villasenor also played in the side projects Drunk with Power and Demean with guitarist Brian "Ares" Schwager. On an extended 8 weeks all over European Tour in 2004 Rico and Ares teamed up playing 2 sets every night, with Downset and supporting themselves with their band Demean. There were no day off's, only one Demean gig had to be cancelled for health reasons concerning Ares. This was a safety measure to make sure the Downset headline show and further shows could be played. Villasenor started his career with LA underground Metal favorites Manhole (band), who later changed their name to Tura Satana, featuring My Ruin vocalist Tairrie B. Rico currently plays with Drunk with Power guitarist, and famed Graffiti artist, Axis (guitarist), Axis in the LA based Metal band The Pain (band), The Pain. Downset (usually stylized as downset.) is an American rap metal band from Los Angeles, California. Originally called Social Justice, the band's music blends influences from rap, funk, hardcore punk, and metal with "socially aware lyrics." Tura Satana was an American metal band named after cult actress Tura Satana. The band started in the early 1990s under the name Manhole. Due to legal reasons they changed it after the release of their first album ''All Is Not Well''. While the music was brutal and powerful, the lyrics of the first album were strongly influenced by singer Tairrie B's hardships as a woman having dealt with a dysfunctional family and violence. My Ruin is an American alternative metal band from Los Angeles, California, composed of the husband and wife duo Tairrie B and Mick Murphy (guitarist), Mick Murphy. The band has been through various line-up changes since its formation in 1999. The band's sound consists of passionate vocals and heavy rock beats, with most of the fanbase in the UK. Vocalist Tairrie B Murphy has cultivated a reputation both on and off the stage for her aggressive performances and acerbic vocal style. Theresa Beth (born January 18, 1965), known professionally as Tairrie B, is an American singer and rapper. Career She started her music career as part of the female dance group Bardeux. After the release of their debut single, "Three-Time Lover", in 1987, she left the group. Under the tutelage of Eazy-E, she was later signed to his label Ruthless Records (under a new imprint called Comptown Records) and released her first album, ''Power of a Woman (Tairrie B album), Power of a Woman'', which, unlike usual Ruthless fare, was distributed by MCA Records.
