Rico Conning
Rico Conning is an English record producer, songwriter, sound designer, and guitarist. In his early career (1977–83) he was a singer, guitarist, and songwriter with London-based band, The Lines. During the 1980s, he worked often at North London's Guerilla Studios, producing and mixing artists such as Adam Ant, Coil, Depeche Mode, Renegade Soundwave, Wire, Swans, Laibach, Étienne Daho, and others. He moved to Los Angeles in the 1990s and formed a successful Technique; Sound designer shapes ads with a DJ’s expertise sound design company, M62. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand. A plectrum or individual finger picks may also be used to strike the strings. The sound of the guitar is projected either acoustically, by means of a resonant chamber on the instrument, or amplified by an electronic pickup and an amplifier. The guitar is classified as a chordophone – meaning the sound is produced by a vibrating string stretched between two fixed points. Laurie Mayer (composer)
Laurie Mayer (born 1961) is an American born composer and songwriter who has spent much of her musical career in the UK. She majored in both music and fine art at the University of California, Los Angeles before relocating to London. She was part of the group Torch Song. Career During the 1980s and 1990s she was part of the group Torch Song. The band released four albums: Wish Thing, Ecstasy, Exhibit A, and Toward the Unknown Region. Together they ran Guerilla Studios, with Rico Conning as the in-house sound engineer. Conning was also a member of The Lines, a UK post-punk band. She worked with Etienne Daho on his albums 'Pop Satori' and 'Pour nos vies martiennes'. During that time she released an EP, Bright Blue Night. The title track was covered as "Le seul cœur que je brise" by the Daho produced version recorded by Belgian pop artist Lio. Stuart Leslie Goddard, better known as Adam Ant (born 3 November 1954), is an English singer, musician, and actor. Étienne Daho (; ; born 14 January 1956) is a French singer. He has released a number of synth-driven and rock- surf influenced pop hit singles since 1981. Career Daho was born in Oran, French Algeria. He sings in a low, whispery voice somewhat akin to Leonard Cohen or Chet Baker and his music established him as a pop cult hero.
