Donald Jay Rickles (May 8, 1926 – April 6, 2017) was an American stand-up comedian and actor. He became known primarily for his insult comedy. His film roles include ''Run Silent, Run Deep'' (1958) with Clark Gable, Carl Reiner's '' Enter Laughing'' (1967), the Clint Eastwood–led ''Kelly's Heroes'' (1970), and Martin Scorsese's ''Casino'' (1995) with Robert De Niro. From 1976 to 1978, Rickles had a two-season starring role in the NBC television sitcom '' C.P.O. Lawrence Rickles (May 12, 1970 – December 3, 2011) was an American screenwriter and film and television producer. He won an Emmy Award in 2008 for his work on '' Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project'', a documentary about his father, actor and comedian Don Rickles. Rickles was born on May 12, 1970, in Los Angeles. Don said on an episode of ''The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson'' that Barbara conceived Larry while he was on set in the Istrian village of Vižinada in the former Yugoslavia (now Istria, Croatia), while filming ''Kelly's Heroes'' in July 1969. Donald Rickles
Donald Newton Rickles (October 7, 1927 – February 19, 1985) was an American radio and television announcer, news anchor, and actor. Early life He was born Donald Newton Rickles in Portland, Oregon on October 7, 1927. Career Rickles began his announcing career at the age of 11 at KBPS (AM) in Portland. Later, he was chief announcer for KUSC-FM in Los Angeles, California. Other stations where he worked early in his career included KGW and KEX in Portland and KVAN in Vancouver, Washington. In 1949, he became an announcer at KIEV in Los Angeles, and a year later, joined the announcing staff of NBC in Hollywood. He was part of a core group of West Coast announcers for the network who, in his early years, included Don Stanley, Arch Presby, Eddy King, and Frank Barton; by the 1970s, the main core announcing lineup had become Rickles, Stanley, Victor Bozeman, and Peggy Taylor. Dean Rickles
Dean Rickles (born July 17, 1977) is Professor of History and Philosophy of Modern Physics at the University of Sydney and a Director of the Sydney Centre for Time. Life Dean Rickles was born in Hull, Yorkshire. He briefly trained as a concert pianist at the London College of Music, before switching to philosophy. He received an MA from the University of Sheffield (1999) and PhD from the University of Leeds (2004). During a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Calgary in 2005, he worked on the application of complex systems theory to population health. He took up a lectureship at the University of Sydney in 2007 and was awarded a five-year Australian Research Council fellowship in 2008 followed by an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship in 2014.
