Rick Miller (Texas Politician)
Rick Miller is an American politician. He served as a Republican Party (United States), Republican member for the 26th district of the Texas House of Representatives. Miller attended the United States Naval Academy and the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, where he earned his Master of Science degree. Miller was a pitcher for the United States Olympic baseball team in Mexico. He was a United States Naval Aviator in carrier-based squadrons, and had staff assignments at the Pentagon. He was a senior member of the Strategic Studies Group of the Chief of Naval Operations, tasked with developing naval strategies for the 21st century. The Commendation Medal is a mid-level United States military decoration presented for sustained acts of heroism or meritorious service. Each branch of the United States Armed Forces issues its own version of the Commendation Medal, with a fifth version existing for acts of joint military service performed under the Department of Defense. The Commendation Medal was originally only a service ribbon and was first awarded by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard in 1943. Sugar Land is the largest city in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, located in the southwestern part of the metropolitan area.
