Rick Celebrini
Rick Celebrini (born October 16, 1967) is a retired Canadian soccer player who is the physiotherapist and head of sports medicine and science for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and director of sports medicine and performance for the Golden State Warriors. Celebrini played for the Canadian U-20 national team at the 1987 FIFA World Youth Championship. He played professionally for the Vancouver 86ers. Celebrini is also a founder and the Director of Sport Medicine and Science for the Fortius Institute. Player In 1985, Celebrini began his collegiate soccer career at Capilano University. In 1986, Capilano finished third in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Soccer Championship. In 1987, Celebrini transferred to the University of British Columbia, but was out of soccer for nearly two years after breaking his left foot. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. Macklin Celebrini (born June 13, 2006) is a Canadian ice hockey player for Boston University of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Celebrini is eligible for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and is widely projected as most likely to be selected first overall. Playing career Celebrini signed with the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the 2022–23 USHL season after scoring 50 goals and 67 assists in 52 games playing for Shattuck-Saint Mary's. He quickly earned a hat trick and was named USHL's forward of the week. Celebrini ultimately posted 86 points during the season, leading the USHL, and the most-ever by an under-17 player in USHL history.
