Richwood, Cape Town
Richwood is an outer northern suburb of Cape Town, South Africa and is about north-east of the city alongside the N7 freeway. According to the 2011 census it has a population of 2,988 residents in 963 households, although it has significantly expanded in recent years. The name is a portmanteau of "Richmond Park" and " Goodwood". Transport Richwood is located between the N7 highway and the M13 (Tygerberg Valley Road). The M13 connects Richwood to Durbanville and Bothasig and also provides access to the N7 highway (to Cape Town and Malmesbury) via the M14 and M12. Richwood contains a large residential area by the name of Burgundy Estate, which has a large amount of apartment complexes, including two large estates from the JSE listed Balwin Properties. Balwin Properties
Balwin is a residential neighbourhood in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Originally part of North Edmonton, the area was annexed by the City of Edmonton in 1912. According to the 2001 federal census, 6.5% of the residences in the neighbourhood were constructed prior to the end of World War II. However, most of the residential construction (76.5%) were built between 1946 and 1970. One out of every eight (12.4%) were built during the 1980s, and by 1981 residential construction was substantially complete. The most common type of residence, according to the 2005 municipal census, is the single-family dwelling. M12 (Cape Town)
The M12 is a long metropolitan route in the City of Cape Town, South Africa. It connects Burgundy Estate with Stellenbosch via Parow, Elsie's River and Kuils River. Route The M12 begins at a junction with the M13 in the Burgundy Estate in Milnerton, north of Cape Town. It begins by going eastwards for a few metres as Sienna Drive before turning southwards as Giel Basson Drive. Malmesbury, South Africa
Malmesbury is a town of approximately 36,000 inhabitants in the Western Cape province of South Africa, about 65 km north of Cape Town. The town is the largest in the Swartland (‘black land’) which took its name from the Renosterbos ('rhino bush'), an indigenous plant that turns black in the warm, dry summers. The area is especially known for its grain and wine cultivation as well as sheep and poultry farming. Malmesbury was named after Sir Lowry Cole's father-in-law, the Earl of Malmesbury. Settlers were encouraged to make their homes here because of a tepid sulphur chloride mineral spring that was renowned for curing rheumatism. The first farms were allocated in 1703. The N7 is a national route in South Africa that runs from Cape Town northwards through the West Coast and Namaqualand regions to the Namibian border at Vioolsdrif. After crossing the border, it changes designation to B1 and runs north through Windhoek and the north of Namibia. Goodwood, Cape Town
Goodwood is a suburb of Cape Town in the Western Cape, South Africa and is situated in the Tygerberg region of the City of Cape Town. It is 10 kilometres from Cape Town and accessible from the N1, N7 and N2 highways. The town was established in 1905 and named after Goodwood Racecourse in England as the founders intended to make it a racing centre. A course was actually constructed, but after only one meeting it was abandoned. The first railway station was built in 1905, and today there are five within the municipal area.
