Richmond Range National Park
Richmond Range is a national park located in New South Wales, Australia, north of Sydney. It is located north of the Bruxner Highway in the southern portion of the Richmond Range mountains, part of the Great Dividing Range. The Park is co-managed by the Githabul People who have inhabited the region for thousands of years. It is home to Australia's World Heritage Area of Cambridge Plateau and Bungdoozle area rainforests. It consists of various endangered species of animals such as the golden-tipped bat, Parma wallabies, spotted-tailed quoll and long-nosed potoroos. The average winter temperature in the park is 15°C, and the summer 25°C. National Parks And Wildlife Service (New South Wales)
The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is a directorate of the New South Wales Department of Planning and Environment responsible for managing most of the protected areas in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Despite its name the NPWS is a state agency rather than a national one, with similarly named counterparts fulfilling comparable functions in other states and territories. History The NPWS was established in 1967 when the Fauna Protection Panel and the Parks and Reserves Branch of the NSW Lands Department were amalgamated under Lands Minister Tom Lewis . Bruxner Highway
Bruxner Highway, and its former alignment as Bruxner Way, are a state highway and rural road respectively, located in New South Wales, Australia. The route forms an east–west link from the Northern Rivers coast, across the Northern Tablelands in northern New South Wales, close to the border with Queensland. It was named after Michael Bruxner, NSW Minister for Transport from 1932 to 1941. Route The eastern terminus of Bruxner Highway is at the junction with the Pacific Highway at Ballina and links Lismore, Casino, Mummulgum, Tabulam, Drake, Tenterfield, Bonshaw, Yetman and Boggabilla where its western terminus is at a junction with Newell Highway, close to Goondiwindi. Great Dividing Range
The Great Dividing Range, also known as the East Australian Cordillera or the Eastern Highlands, is a cordillera system in eastern Australia consisting of an expansive collection of mountain ranges, plateaus and rolling hills, that runs roughly parallel to the east coast of Australia and forms the fifth-longest land-based mountain chain in the world, and the longest entirely within a single country. Golden-tipped Bat
The golden-tipped bat (''Kerivoula papuensis'') is a species of Microchiropteran in the family Vespertilionidae. It is found in Papua New Guinea and in Australia, especially scattered along the eastern part of Australia. The species is considered uncommon, and is listed as endangered in Australia. Description The golden-tipped bat has brown color and broken color patterns on its pelage; the body is covered with woolly fur. Broken color patterns support crypsis in the golden-tipped bat; thick pelage and wooly fur provide thermal insulation. The average weight of adults is 6.7g. Parma Wallaby
The parma wallaby (''Notamacropus parma'') is a small, hopping, kangaroo-like mammal native to forests of southeastern Australia. About the size of a stout cat, it lives in dense shrub and is only active at night to feed on grasses and small plants. It is the smallest of the wallabies (short, kangaroo-like animals of the genus ''Notamacropus'') and carries its young in a pouch like other Marsupial, marsupials. The long-nosed potoroo (''Potorous tridactylus'') is a small, hopping, gerbil-like mammal native to forests and shrubland of southeastern Australia and Tasmania.
