Richie Reid (hurler, Born 1993)
Richard Reid (born 4 April 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays for Kilkenny Senior Championship club Ballyhale Shamrocks and at inter-county level with the Kilkenny senior hurling team. He usually lines out at midfield, and was nominated to become captain of the Kilkenny Senior hurlers for the 2022 season. Playing career Ballyhale Shamrocks Reid joined the Ballyhale Shamrocks club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage before eventually joining the club's top adult team in the senior grade. On 23 October 2011, Reid lined out in goal when Ballyhale Shamrocks faced James Stephens in the championship final for the third time in five years. The game ended in an 0-11 to 1-08 draw. Reid was again selected in goal for the replay a week later but ended on the losing side following a 1-20 to 0-15 defeat. Reid lined out in a second successive final on 11 November 2012. Ballyhale
Ballyhale () is a village in the south east of Ireland. Located in the south of County Kilkenny, south of the city of Kilkenny and roughly halfway to Waterford city. The sport of hurling is popular in the area, and the local Gaelic Athletic Association team of Ballyhale Shamrocks are the most successful hurling club in All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship history. Local Kilkenny GAA hurler Henry Shefflin holds the record for the highest number of All Ireland Senior Hurling medals for a single player. The location is also close to the Mount Juliet golf course in nearby Thomastown. The food brand Glanbia, originally Avonmore, had its roots in a number of member-owned creameries, before becoming a global showcase coop brand for Irish agriculture. The 2010 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 80th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 10 April and ended on 5 September 2010. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Kilkenny in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 5 September 2010, Kilkenny won the championship after a 2-10 to 0-14 defeat of Clare in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park. The 2019 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship was the 125th staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kilkenny County Board in 1887. The championship began on 21 September 2019 and ended on 27 October 2019. Ballyhale Shamrocks were the defending champions. Ballyboden St
Ballyboden (''Baile Buadáin'' in Irish, meaning "Boden Town") is a locality within the suburb of Rathfarnham in South Dublin, at the foot of the Dublin Mountains between Whitechurch, Ballyroan and Knocklyon. O'Loughlin Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in the St. John’s parish of Kilkenny city, County Kilkenny, Ireland. History The club was founded in 1969, replacing the St. John’s Hurling Club that started back in 1887. O'Loughlin Gaels are one of the most successful Kilkenny clubs of the new millennium, winning county titles in 2001 and 2003. In 2003, they went on to claim their first Leinster senior title. All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Club Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Club Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county club hurling competition in Ireland, and has been contested every year since the 1970-71 championship (except for 2020-2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic). The final, currently held on the third Sunday in January, is the culmination of a series of games played between October and February with the winners receiving the Tommy Moore Cup. The All-Ireland Championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship.
