Richard Ungewitter
Richard Ungewitter (December 18, 1869 in Artern, Province of Saxony – December 17, 1958 in Stuttgart) was a German pioneer of the ''Freikörperkultur'' (free body culture) movement and one of its first organizers. There was a '' völkisch'' element in Ungewitter's ideas. Career Ungewitter was of working-class or lower middle-class origins and was trained as a gardener. He became a clerk in the office of a gardening company, then lived for two years in Norway. After returning to Germany, he was one of the founders of a bread manufacturing facility. After that went bankrupt, he worked as a sales representative and a Lutheran minister. He was introduced to nudism (now known as naturism) by Heinrich Pudor, who published under the pseudonym ''Heinrich Scham'' (Shame). Today he is considered one of its early pioneers. Artern
Artern is a town in the Kyffhäuserkreis district, Thuringia, Germany. The former municipalities Heygendorf and Voigtstedt were merged into Artern in January 2019. Geography Artern is situated at the confluence of the rivers Unstrut and Helme, on a bend of the Unstrut, which flows through the town from the southeast to the northwest. It is located in the north east of Thuringia, close to the border with Saxony Anhalt, and 12 km south of Sangerhausen. Transport Artern is on the Sangerhausen–Erfurt railway and so has railway connections to Erfurt and Sangerhausen. The railway connection to Naumburg was cancelled in December 2006. Freyja
In Norse paganism, Freyja (Old Norse "(the) Lady") is a goddess associated with love, beauty, fertility, sex, war, gold, and seiðr (magic for seeing and influencing the future). Freyja is the owner of the necklace Brísingamen, rides a chariot pulled by two cats, is accompanied by the boar Hildisvíni, and possesses a cloak of falcon feathers. Naturism is a cultural and social movement practicing, advocating and defending social nudity in private and in public. It is particularly strong in Germany where it goes under the name Freikörperkultur (FKK). It refers to a lifestyle based on personal, family and/or social nudism in the "great outdoors" environment. Naturism grew out of the German Lebensreform movement and the Wandervogel youth movement of 1896, and has been adopted in many neighbouring European countries and was taken by the German diaspora to North America and other continents. The Deutscher Verband für Freikörperkultur (DFK; German Association for Free Body Culture) represents the interests of organized supporters of the Freikörperkultur (free body culture) in Germany. The DFK is a member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) as an association with special tasks for popular sports in nude recreation. ''Ostara'' or ''Ostara, Briefbücherei der Blonden und Mannesrechtler'' (Ostara, Newsletter of the Blonde and Masculists) was a German nationalist magazine founded in 1905 by the occultist Lanz von Liebenfels in Vienna, Austria, and in which he published anti-semitic and '' Völkisch'' theories. Lanz derived the name of the publication from the reconstructed Old High German goddess name ''* Ôstarâ''. Lanz claimed that the Ostrogoths and the nation of Austria (German: ''Österreich'') were matronymically named after this goddess.
