Boston (UK Parliament Constituency)
Boston was a parliamentary borough in Lincolnshire, which elected two Members of Parliament (MPs) to the House of Commons from 1547 until 1885, and then one member from 1885 until 1918, when the constituency was abolished. History Boston first elected Members of Parliament in 1352–1353, but after that the right lapsed and was not revived again until the reign of Edward VI. The borough consisted of most of the town of Boston, a port and market town on the River Witham which had overgrown its original boundaries as the river had been cleared of silt and its trade developed. In 1831, the population of the borough was 11,240, contained 2,631 houses. The right to vote belonged to the Mayor, aldermen, members of the common council and all resident freemen of the borough who paid scot and lot. Richard Stevenson (Australian Politician)
Richard Stevenson (1832 – 14 May 1899) was an English-born Australian politician. Early life He was born at Egham in Surrey, and after working in a printing house arrived in New South Wales in 1851, where he joined the '' Sydney Morning Herald'', working there until 1857 when he left to work on the goldfields at Hanging Rock and Rocky River. 18 months later he returned to ''Herald'', leaving again in 1861 when he purchased the ''Clarence and Richmond Examiner and New England Advertiser'' for £600. On 8 October 1862 he married Louise Whitehouse at Grafton, they had no children. He published the paper until 1875 when he sold it for £3,000 due to ill health. Political career Stevenson stood unsuccessfully for Grafton at the 1880 election and The Clarence at the 1882 and 1885 elections. Dick Stevenson
Richard R. Stevenson (born February 11, 1945) is an American former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, elected in 2000 to represent the 8th District. He retired in 2014. During his time in the legislature, Stevenson served on the House Appropriations, Judiciary and Professional Licensure Committees. Career Stevenson served for eight years on the borough council of Grove City, Pennsylvania from 1985 to 1993, including five years as the council president. In 1996, Stevenson joined the Mercer County Board of Commissioners and was elected chairman. Stevenson was first elected to the House in 2000 to replace Howard Fargo. That year, he defeated the Armstrong County district attorney, George Kepple, in the Republican primary election with 55% of the vote. Larry Stevenson
Richard Lawrence "Larry" Stevenson (December 22, 1930 – March 25, 2012) was the inventor of the kicktail, the bent-upwards end of a skateboard, which made most of today's skateboarding tricks possible and essentially revolutionized the sport. Early life Stevenson was born in 1930 in Los Angeles, California; his mother was Inez Kiem and his father was Leonard Stevenson. After high school Larry Stevenson joined the U.S. Navy as a fighter mechanic. He served for two years in the Korean War. After that, he went on to Santa Monica College in California and became a swimmer. He played water polo and swam for Coach John Josephs. Stevenson won the all American award for fastest time for the breast stroke. The record was only recently broken, and he was given a lifetime allowance into any Santa Monica College event, if he wished to attend. Richard Stevenson Lipez (November 30, 1938 – March 16, 2022), commonly known by his pen name Richard Stevenson, was an American journalist and mystery author, most recently residing in Massachusetts. He was best known for his Donald Strachey mysteries. Lipez was openly gay, and married his husband Joe Wheaton in 2004. He died from pancreatic cancer on March 16, 2022, at the age of 83. Richard Stevenson (poet)
Richard Stevenson (4 March 1952 – 18 October 2023) was a Canadian teacher and poet. Stevenson taught English at Lethbridge College in Lethbridge, Alberta, and also taught for a couple of years in Nigeria. Stevenson held degrees in English and creative writing from the University of Victoria and University of British Columbia. He was also a musician with the young adult group Sasquatch and the jazz/poetry ensemble Naked Ear. Stevenson was an accomplished writer, publishing more than 40 works of poetry, haiku, and fiction, with five titles forthcoming posthumously. A former editor-in-chief of PRISM international ''Prism International'' (styled ''PRISM international'') is a magazine published quarterly in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Richard Stephenson (born 12 August 1949) was one of Zambia's most gifted midfielders who featured during the country's very first Cup of Nations appearance in Egypt in 1974. He captained the 'Magnificent' Kabwe Warriors and was Zambia's footballer of the year in 1971. Stephenson also played for Kitwe giants Power Dynamos later in his career. Early life Stephenson was born in Ndola and attended Fatima Convent School in Ndola Rural from 1957 to 1966 where he did his primary and junior secondary education. He got inspired to play football by his teacher Bonnie Williams who was coaching rugby and football at the school. Richard W. "Rick" Stephenson (born 1955 or 1956 in Yuba City) is an American bodybuilder and former United States Army Ranger. Biography He was involved sports since his youngest years and was a high school wrestler. He started to work out as a 14-year-old. After high school he enlisted to the military and was promptly sent to West Germany. In 1979, he was accepted to the San Diego Mesa College, where he majored in aviation occupations. He never finished college but in the meantime was selected for the United States Army Rangers—a special operations unit of the United States Armed Forces.
