Sir Richard Rees, 2nd Baronet
Sir Richard Lodowick Edward Montagu Rees, 2nd Baronet (4 April 1900 – 24 July 1970) was a British diplomat, writer and painter. Rees was the son of Sir John Rees, 1st Baronet and his wife Mary Catherine Dormer. His sister was the pilot Rosemary Rees, Lady du Cros, MBE. He was educated at West Downs School, Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge. His father, who had been an administrator in British India and a Liberal politician, died in 1922 and he inherited the baronetcy. He was for a while an attache at the British Embassy in Berlin. In 1925 he became a lecturer at the Worker's Educational Association in London, and also acted as Treasurer there. He became editor of '' Adelphi'' in 1930, where he provided encouragement to George Orwell among others. He was the inspiration for the wealthy Ravelston, publisher of the socialist magazine ''Antichrist'', in Orwell's ''Keep the Aspidistra Flying''. Richard Rees (politician)
Richard Bloomfield Rees (1859 – 25 June 1935) was an Australian politician. Born in Neath, Wales to colliery manager Benjamin Rees and Gwenllian Jenkins, Rees was educated in London and became a pharmacist and dentist. After travelling through Europe he arrived in Victoria in 1884 and became a public analyst for the Board of Health at Heaglehawk and a lecturer in science at the Bendigo School of Mines and Industries. On 8 December 1886 he married Rosa Paddison, with whom he had six children. From 1893 he farmed at Swan Hill. In 1903 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Council for North Western Province, ultimately representing the Victorian Farmers' Union; he resigned his seat in 1919 to run for the Senate, unsuccessfully. Richard Rees (rugby Union)
Richard Michael Rees (born 21 September 1971) is a Welsh former rugby union international. Rees, a Carmarthen-born winger, is a product of hometown club Tumble RFC. He had brief stints at both Neath and Newport early in his career, before moving onto Swansea, where he would play on the wing for seven seasons. After helping Swansea win the 1997–98 Premier Division title, Rees secured a place on the Wales squad for the 1998 tour of Africa. He earned his first and only Wales cap in the match against Zimbabwe in Harare and scored two debut tries, including one with his first touch. In 2003, Rees left Swansea and signed up to play for the Llanelli Scarlets. Richie Rees
Richie Rees (born 21 May 1983) is a former Wales international professional rugby union player. He played as a scrum-half. He is now the attack coach for Cardiff Rugby. Club Rees started his rugby career at Dunvant RFC. He then played for the Ospreys regional team in Wales for two years, winning the Celtic League in the 04/05 season. He then joined London Irish. In 2007 he returned to Wales when he signed for the Cardiff Blues going on to win the EDF Energy Cup in the 08/09 season and the Amlin Challenge Cup in 09/10. Rees gained his one hundredth cap for the Cardiff Blues, playing against the Scarlets at Parc Y Scarlets on 5 May 2012. In March 2012, Rees announced that he was leaving the Cardiff Blues for Edinburgh Rugby. In March 2013 it was announced Rees would join Newport Gwent Dragons on a 2-year deal for the 2013–14 season.
