Richard Gillachrist Moore (20 February 1931 – 15 May 2019), was a British journalist and Liberal Party politician. He was a leader writer at the ''News Chronicle'' and speechwriter to the Liberal Party Leader. Background Moore was born in London, the younger son of Sir Alan Moore and Hilda Mary Burrows. He was educated at Highfield School, Liphook and Radley College, Berkshire, gaining an exhibition to Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1949. He was President of Cambridge University Liberal Club in 1953 and President of Cambridge Union in 1955. He was also Chairman of the Union of University Liberal Societies. In 1955 he married Ann Miles. Richard Clifton "Rich" Moore (born April 26, 1947) is a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) who played 20 games for the Green Bay Packers. In 1969, the Green Bay Packers used the 12th pick in the 1st round of the 1969 NFL Draft to sign Moore out of Villanova University. He had previously been named as a first-team tackle on the East Coast Athletic Conference all-conference team in 1968, his senior season at Villanova. Moore went on to play for two seasons with the Packers. He tore an Achilles tendon in a win over the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1970 season, and had surgery shortly thereafter, putting him out for the season. After trying him on offense during training camp in 1971, the Packers traded him to the New England Patriots for linebacker John Bramlett in late July 1971. Richard L. Moore (born 1945) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'4" guard, he played college basketball for one season at Villanova before becoming academically ineligible and transferring to Hiram Scott College for his final two years. During his senior season he averaged 38.8 points per game. Following his college career, he worked out several times with the Philadelphia 76ers before signing with the San Diego Rockets in May 1967. After being released by San Diego in the fall, he signed with the Denver Rockets of the American Basketball Association. He played for Denver during the 1967–68 season, where he averaged 3.8 and 1.1 rebounds points per game before being released in December 1967. Richard Winston "Dickie" Moore (January 6, 1931 – December 19, 2015) was a Canadian professional hockey player, successful businessman and community philanthropist. He twice won the Art Ross Trophy as the National Hockey League's leading scorer and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Moore spent much of his career with the Montreal Canadiens, but also played briefly with the Toronto Maple Leafs and St. Louis Blues. In 2017 Moore was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history. Career Moore played left wing with the Montreal Canadiens from 1951 to 1963. Richard Henry Moore (14 November 1913 – 1 March 2002) was an English first-class cricketer. Moore debuted as a 17-year-old for Hampshire County Cricket Club in 1931 and made nearly 130 appearances for the county during the 1930s. He was appointed Hampshire captain for 1936 and 1937, succeeding Geoffrey Lowndes. An opening batsman who passed 1,000 runs for the season on three occasions, his best innings of note came in 1937, when he scored 316 runs in a single day against Warwickshire at Bournemouth, which remains as of 2023 the highest individual first-class score for Hampshire. With business commitments taking up more of his time, he relinquished the captaincy to Cecil Paris in 1938, but continued to play for Hampshire less frequently before the start of the Second World War. Sir Richard Greenslade Moore (21 June 1878 – 15 September 1966) was an Australian politician who served as Mayor of the Municipality of Kalgoorlie (Town of Kalgoorlie from 1961) between 1937 and 1966. He was a member of the Western Australian Legislative Council between 1932 and 1936. Early life Moore was born in 1878 in Neereman, near Bendigo in the Goldfields region of Victoria to Anne ( Greenslade) and John Moore. His father was a blacksmith and Richard took on his father's trade after finishing school. Move to Western Australia In 1900, Moore moved to Kalgoorlie where he worked as a gold miner. Two years later, he set up a blacksmith operation at Broad Arrow, north of Kalgoorlie.
