Richard Knight (born 3 August 1979) is an English footballer who played professionally in the Football League for Carlisle United, Hull City, Macclesfield Town, Oxford United and Colchester United. Playing career Knight was born in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. He began his football career with Burton Albion, for whom he made one appearance, against Salisbury City in 1994. Ten minutes after coming on as a half-time substitute, he was sent off after bringing down an opponent. Outfield player Darren Stride went in goal and saved the resultant penalty, but Burton lost 2–0. He then joined Derby County in 1997. Knight Brothers
The Knight Brothers (also billed as The Knight Bros.) were a soul music duo, comprising Richard Dunbar (b. 31 May 1939) and Jimmy Diggs (b. James Leon Diggs, 11 October 1938)(d. February 28, 2023). Both had been singing in local church choirs, when they met while living in Washington D.C. in the early 1950s. The pair then formed a doo-wop group, the Starfires, who recorded for the Decca label in 1958. Forming a duo, they began recording for the Checker label in 1963. Their biggest success was "Temptation 'Bout To Get Me", which was a number 12 R&B and number 70 pop hit in 1965, and was followed by "I'm Never Gonna Live It Down". Richard Knight (cricketer)
Richard Knight (8 May 1892 – 9 January 1960) was an English first-class cricketer. The son of Charles Knight, he was born at South Molton in Devon. He was educated at St John's School, Leatherhead before going up to Christ's College, Cambridge. While studying at Cambridge, he made four appearances in first-class cricket for Cambridge University in 1912, which included playing in the two matches against the touring Australians and South Africans. He scored a total of 101 runs in these four matches, with his highest score of 66 coming against the South Africans. As a bowler he took 8 wickets at an average of 22.12, with best figures of 4 for 23.
