Richard Gordon Hartley
Richard Gordon Hartley, an Australian civil engineer and mining and engineering industry historian, was born in the United Kingdom on 30 June 1939 and died in Perth, Western Australia in 2016. He attained an honours degree from Murdoch University in 1992, with studies focusing on gold mining in the early twentieth century Western Australian Goldfields, Goldfields of Western Australia. Continuing his examination of developments in this technology, he obtained a PhD from Murdoch in 1998. His work on the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme and Mundaring Weir was published in 2007 and coinciding with the centenary of the Scheme. It has been the most thorough work completed on the Scheme, involving extensive archival research and extensive interviews. Richard I
Richard I (8 September 1157 – 6 April 1199) was King of England from 1189 until his death in 1199. He also ruled as Duke of Normandy, Aquitaine and Gascony, Lord of Cyprus, and Count of Poitiers, Anjou, Maine, and Nantes, and was overlord of Brittany at various times during the same period. He was the third of five sons of King Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine and seemed unlikely to become king, but all his brothers except the youngest, John, predeceased their father. Richard is known as Richard Cœur de Lion (Norman French: ''Le quor de lion'') or Richard the Lionheart because of his reputation as a great military leader and warrior. Richard Neville Hartley is an English composer, best known for his work on '' The Rocky Horror Show''. He grew up in Holmfirth. Career In the 1970s he began a long association with Richard O'Brien. Hartley was originally part of the four-piece band for ''The Rocky Horror Show''. He went on to arrange the score for the London Stage and film adaptation (''The Rocky Horror Picture Show'') as well as its follow-up '' Shock Treatment'', and then worked with O'Brien on another, as yet unproduced, sequel, '' Revenge of the Old Queen''. His other 1970s film scores included ''Galileo'' (1975), ''The Romantic Englishwoman'' (1975), '' Aces High'' (1976), and the remake of ''The Lady Vanishes'' (1979).
