Richard Thompson (animator)
Richard Thompson (26 August 1914 – 12 June 1998) was an American animator who worked at several animated cartoon departments over a career of four decades. Career Thompson's longest association was with Chuck Jones at Warner Bros. Cartoons and MGM Animation/Visual Arts. Notably, he was an animator on Chuck Jones' Road Runner cartoons. He also worked at Hanna-Barbera and DePatie–Freleng Enterprises. He animated for Tom and Jerry cartoons; for one Peanuts animated special, ''He's Your Dog, Charlie Brown ''He's Your Dog, Charlie Brown'' is the fifth prime-time animated TV special based upon the popular comic strip ''Peanuts,'' by Charles M. Richard Thompson (footballer, Born 1969)
Richard John Thompson (born 11 April 1969) is an English former professional footballer. He played professionally for Newport County and Torquay United and has been manager of Yate Town and Almondsbury Town. He is currently manager of Mangotsfield United. Thompson was on schoolboy forms with Watford and played for Yate Town before joining Newport County in January 1987. He scored on his Newport debut in October 1987, but was transfer-listed shortly afterwards due to Newport's growing financial crisis. Newport were relegated at the end of the season, and would fold before the end of their first season in the Conference. Thompson left to join Torquay United in June 1988 and made his Torquay debut in the first game of the following season, playing as a substitute for Jim McNichol in the 2–0 defeat at home to Halifax Town. Richard Horner Thompson (September 24, 1926 – February 21, 2016) was a United States Army general. Early life Thompson was born on September 24, 1926 in New York City, New York and died on February 21, 2016 in Fairfax, Virginia. Military career Thompson entered in the United States Army in November 1944 and advanced to the grade of staff sergeant before being commissioned a second lieutenant. He served first at Fort Hamilton and then was assigned to Japan, where he performed duties as the Army Exchange Officer at Kokura. He returned to the United States in March 1957 to take the Associate Infantry Company Officer Course at the United States Army Infantry School. Upon completion, he was assigned to Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Vice-Admiral Richard Charles Thompson, (born 12 February 1966) is a senior Royal Navy officer. Early life and education Thompson was born on 12 February 1966 in Reading, Berkshire, England. He was educated at Meadway School, a state school in Reading. He studied engineering at the Royal Naval Engineering College and King's College London. Naval career Thompson joined the Royal Navy in 1985. He served with 845 Naval Air Squadron from 1989 to 1991, and with 845 Naval Air Squadron from 1991 to 1993. Sir Richard Paul Hepworth Thompson, (born 14 April 1940) is a British physician and past president of the Royal College of Physicians in London. Biography Thompson studied medicine at Oxford University and St Thomas' Hospital, and specialised in gastroenterology. He conducted research with Prof Roger Williams, and at the Mayo Clinic. He was appointed consultant at St Thomas' from 1972 until his retirement in 2005. He continued to conduct research in nutritional gastroenterology. From 1982 until 2005 he was also attached to King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes. He was a member of the Medical Household of Elizabeth II, and head from 1993 until 2005. Richard Charles Thompson is a marine biologist who researches marine litter. At the University of Plymouth he is director of the Marine Institute; professor of Marine Biology; and leads the International Marine Litter Research Unit. Thompson coined the term "microplastics" in 2004. Education Thompson was educated at University of Newcastle and the University of Liverpool where he was awarded a Ph.D in 1996.
