Richard Formby
Richard Formby is a British musician, engineer and producer. As well as releasing his own solo music, he has been a member of various bands. Formby produced the albums ''Two Dancers'' (2009) and ''Smother'' (2011) by Wild Beasts, as well as ''Some Say I So I Say Light'' (2013) by Ghostpoet and ''News from Nowhere'' (2013) by Darkstar. DIY (magazine)
''DIY'' is a United Kingdom-based music publication, in print and online. Its free print edition is released monthly with a physical circulation of 40,000 in UK venues, clubs and shops. DIY Magazine ''DIY'' was launched in 2002 by then-editor Stephen Ackroyd & Emma Swann as an online-only publication called This Is Fake DIY, named after a song by Scottish indie pop band Bis and staffed largely by a freelance writing team from around the globe. The Blueskins
The Blueskins were a four-piece band who were based in Gawthorpe, near Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Career The band was formed after Spendlove and Brown met at music college in 1999. After college they continued to play together and drafted in school friends Smith and Townsend. In 2003 considerable interest in the band resulted in an influx of A&R men to Gawthorpe and a signing to Domino Records. Three singles, an EP and an album followed, and the band embarked on a tour of Europe and the United States, recording in Mississippi with record producer, Dennis Herring. In 2005 a change of direction saw Smith and Townsend leave the band and, later that year, the remaining two founder members brought in the Russian former tennis professional Andrei Nosov on guitar and Welsh student Tom Bailey on five-string bass guitar to replace them. ''Under the Radar'' is an American music magazine that features interviews with accompanying photo-shoots. Each issue includes opinion and commentary of the indie music scene as well as reviews of books, DVDs, and albums. The magazine posts web-exclusive interviews and reviews on its website. Items are reviewed based on a rating system in which each album, book, and DVD receives a rating from 1 to 10. The magazine has been in publication since late 2001 and is issued three times per year. The magazine was founded by co-publishers (and husband and wife) Mark Redfern and Wendy Lynch Redfern, who were married on June 2, 2007 and currently run the magazine. Hayden Thorpe
Hayden Norman Thorpe (born 18 January 1986) is an English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, originally from Kendal, Cumbria and currently based in Walthamstow, London. Career From 2002 to 2018, Thorpe was the frontman of the indie pop band Wild Beasts, which he initially co-founded as a duo with guitarist Ben Little. Eventually expanding into a four-piece, the band released five studio albums on Domino Records to much critical acclaim, yet only modest commercial success. Following the band's dissolution, Thorpe pursued a solo career, and released his debut album ''Diviner'' through Domino in May 2019. ''Moondust for My Diamond'' is the second studio album by English musician Hayden Thorpe, released on 15 October 2021 through Domino Recording Company. It was produced by Richard Formby, Nathan Jenkins and Thorpe, and preceded by the single "The Universe Is Always Right", as well as the songs "Metafeeling", "Parallel Kingdom" and "Golden Ratio". The album was reissued in an expanded edition, called the ''Every Piece of Dust Edition'', on 19 August 2022, from which the song "Polygod" was released as a single. Background In discussing the themes of the album, Thorpe explained that he wanted to explore "the meeting point between science and religion, the grand struggle for reality that shapes so much of our time". I Like Trains
I Like Trains (previously styled as iLiKETRAiNS) is an English alternative/post-rock band, formed in Leeds, West Yorkshire. It draws its inspiration from historical failings and a pessimistic world view.
