Richard Fielder (April 13, 1925 – July 22, 2020) was an American television writer. The series, in three parts, chronicles the life of George Washington, the first President of the United States from the age of 11 to the age of 51. It was created by Earl Hamner Jr., based on his 1961 book ''Spencer's Mountain'' and the 1963 film of the same name. The series aired from 1972 to 1981. ''Gunsmoke'' is an American radio and television Western drama series created by director Norman Macdonnell and writer John Meston. It centers on Dodge City, Kansas, in the 1870s, during the settlement of the American West. The central character is lawman Marshal Matt Dillon, played by William Conrad on radio and James Arness on television. When aired in the United Kingdom, the television series was initially titled ''Gun Law'', later reverting to ''Gunsmoke''. The radio series ran from 1952 to 1961.
