Richard Brady
Richard Brady, O.F.M. (died 1607) was an Irish prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who served as Bishop of Ardagh from 1576 to 1580 and then Bishop of Kilmore from 1580 to 1607. A Franciscan friar, he was appointed the Bishop of Ardagh by Pope Gregory XIII on 23 January 1576., ''Handbook of British Chronology'', p. 413., ''A New History of Ireland'', volume IX, p. 339. Franciscan
The Franciscans are a group of related Mendicant orders, mendicant Christianity, Christian Catholic religious order, religious orders within the Catholic Church. Hugh O'Reilly ( ga, Aodh Ó Raghallaigh; c.1580–1653) was an Irish prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Bishop of Kilmore from 1625 to 1628 and Archbishop of Armagh from 1628 to 1653. He was the son of Honora and Mulmore O'Reilly, who was the grandson of the chief of the O'Reilly clan, Fearghal macSeaán, who ruled East Breifne from 1526–1534. Patrick MacMahon (bishop)
Patrick MacMahon, O.F.M. (died c.1572 or c.1575) was Bishop of Ardagh in Ireland, recognised at various times by both the Roman Catholic church in Ireland and the Church of Ireland. His appointment to the see was approved by the Vatican on 14 November 1541. The Reformation in Ireland had begun, but there was not yet a definitive break between, on the one hand, the hierarchy recognised by the Roman Curia and, on the other hand, the established church recognised by the Dublin Castle administration of the English king Henry VIII. The Diocese of Ardagh was in the Annaly region of the Farrell clan, of whom Richard O'Ferrall had secured the temporalities of the diocese in July 1541.
