Richard Atkinson (bishop)
Richard William Bryant Atkinson, (born 17 December 1958) is a British Anglican bishop. He was the Archdeacon of Leicester between 2002 and 2012,''Crockford's Clerical Directory 2008/2009 (100th edition)'', Church House Publishing (). and is the current suffragan Bishop of Bedford in the Diocese of St Albans, serving the churches of the Bedford Archdeaconry. He succeeded Richard Inwood who retired to the Diocese of Derby. Atkinson was consecrated by Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, in St Paul's Cathedral on Ascension Day 2012. A Service of Welcome into the Diocese took place at St Paul's Church, Bedford on 19 May 2012 at which Atkinson also preached his first sermon as a bishop. Atkinson was educated at St Paul's School, London, Magdalene College, Cambridge and Ripon College Cuddesdon. He was ordained in 1985 and was a curate in Abingdon-on-Thames, Abingdon. Richard Merrill Atkinson
Richard Merrill Atkinson (February 6, 1894 – April 29, 1947) was an American politician and a U.S. Representative from Tennessee. Biography Atkinson was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and attended the public schools. He graduated from Wallace University School, Nashville, Tennessee, in 1912, from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, in 1916, and from Cumberland School of Law at Cumberland University, Lebanon, Tennessee, in 1917. Admitted to the bar in 1917, he commenced the practice of law in Nashville, in 1920. During the First World War, Atkinson served from June 30, 1917, until honorably discharged on August 29, 1919. He was a member of the Forty-seventh Company, United States Marine Corps, Second Division, serving in France with the American Expeditionary Forces. He served as Attorney general of the tenth judicial circuit of Tennessee from September 1, 1926, to September 1, 1934. Lawrence Rush "Rick" Atkinson IV (born November 15, 1952) is an American author, most recently of ''The British Are Coming: The War for America, Lexington to Princeton, 1775–1777'', the first volume in the Revolution Trilogy. He has won Pulitzer Prizes in history and journalism. After working as a newspaper reporter, editor, and foreign correspondent for ''The Washington Post'', Atkinson turned to writing military history. His seven books include narrative accounts of five different American wars. His Liberation Trilogy, a history of the American role in the liberation of Europe in World War II, concluded with the publication of ''The Guns at Last Light'' in May 2013. Ricky Atkinson
Richard E. "Ricky" Atkinson Jr. (born August 28, 1965) is an American former professional football player who played defensive back in 1987 for the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL). Atkinson played college football at Southern Connecticut State from 1983 to 1986 as a cornerback, where he was a four-year starter and a member of the Division II All-New England and All- ECAC Division II teams. He was named a co-captain in 1985. During his senior year, he set a school record for career interceptions and was named the New England Division II defensive player of the year and to the Kodak Coaches College Division All-American football team.
